The US does not need Russia for cheap labor or oil.
The US already buys a huge amount of goods from China. China provides cheap labor that maintains cost of manufactured goods low for Americans. Russia can't compete against China in that arena.
Oil is a fuel of the past. Nuclear technology is safe, clean and more efficient. Hybrid vehicles will use less and less gas in the future. Plus, the current administration (Obama) will push to use alternative fuels in every possible way.

I did not say hydrogen cars. Hydrogen is a gas. I said hybrid (gas-electric) or entirely electric vehicles. That is clean. And these can eliminate the need for a nation like the US to import ANY foreign oil.
As for nuclear power, it is clean. Nuclear waste might be a problem in Russia, where nuclear waste is not safely stored. But here in the US such waste is safely stored. It is not a problem in the US.
