Not for me. Think about it... could you love him so, if he was more detached? It is precisely his compassion, and "humanity" that make us love him all the more. In that regard he reminds me of Jesus, wholly man, AND holy God. It's an allegory that breaks down, because this is fiction, but it enriches my faith to have THAT allegory. At times I've BEEN the boy with the Doctor's Fob Watch.
