  • If you dig the music and want to hear a modern day version of this style, google flux capacitor band. Found those guys about 2 years back. It's terrific!

  • I'm 14 and that looks like my idea of heaven :D

  • very good.

My FB describes this as.( i live in vegas)

:a non verbal commentary about the las vegas "sub-culture)

  • Yes, you should.

  • oh common, stop making nasty jugging comments. it's art, not a movie supposed to take place in the 60's just enjoy! nice job really made me wanna get up and dance

  • I've watched this several times. It kind of draws you back. There is something unique and creative about this video. You have tapped into some kind of time warp. It is chanelling the late 50's-60's yet is also very new - it's transformational. You should make more videos.

  • @Hwillijonl Thank you so much! What a great, super encouraging comment! Hopefully we'll post some more recent projects on youtube one of these days before long. It's been a while since I've put anything online!

  • sister, that eyelash falls off it might hurt someone :P

  • ahh I'm so in love with the music!

  • Nicely shot. Needs a hair and make-up person. The girls are all wrong from the neck up.

  • You guys did a really great job. Very artistic and entertaining.

  • GO LAWRENCE!!!

  • WHO´S PLAY ¿¿¿¿

  • This looks more authentic than anything I've seen in modern professional Hollywood films. Great job!

  • I love it.

  • Good stuff..!

  • This is fucking awesome! The music and every thing. Greats from the PsychoSurfer69! AkA taste the reverb.

  • This is as awesome as it gets. Juila surely does NOT suck. ;)-~

  • I love this! Great job.

  • (The Clashmen - Boondocker) Surf Creature v2

  • Who does the music to this? Thank you.

  • This is cool music...who made the music?

  • Looks and feels really authentic and from the time, in fact I would have been fooled for a while if you hadn't come clean on the title, super stuff.....really enjoyed it.

  • Can someone tell me please who is the director of this video and how old it is?

    thank you.. ;)

  • This video is great! Really looks like 60´s ! mmmm and what's the song? it´s fantastic!

  • Amazing! Love it. :)

  • It's not half bad...Here is the real McCoy: youtube.com/watch?v=csGVRSHqZOk

  • cool

    you did a good job

  • Julia does suck. I wasn't invited to this swingeroo.

  • Lol, I am loving the dude in the white shirt stopping and looking at the other people dancing, and overall the filming looks pretty real. :)

  • whats is the kodachrome film footage that was in this video expiration date??

  • we think it maybe expired around '89. it was pretty ancient, but came out okay!

  • Thanks dude!

    :D

  • They didn't have those teeny Xmas lights back then. LOL!

Plus you're mixing dress, hair, and makeup styles from 50-70's.

But lots of fun anyway. :)

  • Whatever, Strumelia, maybe these kids were so avant-garde that they INVENTED the first teeny Xmas lights. And maybe the ladies with the more 50s styles have just been shelted for ten years and the guy with the 70s styles is the impetus for the long-haired James Taylor look that became all the rage in the 70s. I believe this could be a real dance party from the 60s!!!!

  • @Strumelia It's like the Tarantino effect, where you can't really decide what decade it is. ;)

  • This is FAB! You did a great job, had me fooled!:)

  • groovy !

  • surely somebody from houston area knows what i am talking about when i say THE WHIP - it was danced mostly to jimmy reed's music---everything i see isnot the whip we danced to in the 60's defin

  • this is sooo kool,,,glad i drink like i do..lol

  • also check out cd of music "Las Vegas grind.. vol1..2..3 " DL on the net..also surf music..all over the net for download..

  • typical 60s beat!! great! where can i find more of this type of music???

  • this is so bad ass i want a camera so i can do this

  • Benny1964 has posted previously that the tune is Bonneville stomp by the Bonnevilles

  • you know where I can download it?

    I can't find it anywhere

    tnx!

  • what song is this?

    love the work!

  • Pretty good, bongos are always a nice touch!

  • Great moves! Loved that period.. Wish I was born in US in the 40's.... party hard in the 60's....

  • great shots! which are the songs? do you know the LPs where I can get them?

  • it's so fake. almost like a satire. the guys just dress nerd that not right. nice try. at least I didn't see any Nike shoes!

  • this looks more like the 70's

  • it's not really the 60s, is it? I was there and it looks wrong, some kind of tension is missing.

  • Which song is it?

I'm looking for it since a lot of time but i can't find it..

  • what kind of music is this????

  • Surf! a classic rhythm in the early sixties

  • THIS IS SO WELL DONE!! do more plzzzzzzzzzzz!

  • looks authentic as fuck. GREAT job!

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • Looks like whoever made this was watching too many Something Weird videos!

    Great job!

  • Drug addled people from the 60's who never bathe. How did they go from being sunny and clean cut in the 50s to this? The wasted generation.

  • wow think I'm thinking this is sooo weird and 50 years from now my kids will think how I danced is weird! LOL the guy in 1:54 I hella funny! he's sooo weird! XD

  • omg i need to party with you guys ^_^

  • i love this. invite me next time!

  • One of the most radically enhanced freakouts you can throttle your gray matter with. Shake It..Bongo It...Go Go It...

  • I wanna go to your parties!

  • Wooooww! that is Shake the skeleton ehhehe, nice moves.i want to dance like that,i will try to do it,need practice, looks interesting :D thanks for posting the vid

  • i love the way they dance!

  • this looks totally rad.

  • now that organ music is real bad!

  • You have little taste in music.

  • Ok James the organ music is ok!....is that what you wanted to hear?

So what style is this music?...define it for me please.

  • Dont know exactly but I will take a stab. Firstly the era is 60s between 63 and 66. The organ sounds like a hammond organ. The music originates from the USA (west coast). The second part has surf influences (drums and guitar). The first is very Booker T and the MG's. The whole sounds a cross between the Ventures and Graham Bond. Dont know if I have defined it for you but I hope I have cleared it up.

After listening to it over and over again, I will somewhat agree with your original comment.

  • You have made it more clear so thanks, I am sure there are people that still love this style of music, and good on em. I am rather opened minded and have a broad taste in all styles of music. Thats a good thing these days. One thing that really facinates me is the music tree that is becoming more vast(see music as a tree, from the simplist styles hundreds of yrs ago to the lastest in styles). There is not one person I know or have ever meet that does not like music:-). Everyone loves music.

  • this is what is known as hard core 60's groove and dance and disco using the fab swinging sounds and instruments that were available er like todays acid and house music

  • Agree, I've been to rave/doof, 10,000 plus people, in the psytrance culture a true experience. Technology has a lot to do with it as well.

  • hey lady! tell me who's the artist of the song please! that's a great early sixties psychedelic sound..if you know! thank's, groovy video

  • really awsome, very cool¡¡

  • Props go out to you. Def cool!

  • looks like its from the old dayys. cool

  • Cool! Remindes me about a Goddard or a Cassavetes joint!

  • Very cool!

  • That was Great

  • Excellent period re-creation. The only thing that looked a little out of place was the girl with the Bambi eyelashes at 1:46. That sort of make-up was more associated with the early 70s British glitter scene than mid 60s kitsch.

  • hell yeah. party.

  • Pretty authentic looking!

  • haha great! :)

  • It was going good till that 70's hippie busted the party era. Thanks anyway.

  • Too funny, very well done, I love it.

  • This is so great. I'm looking into purchasing one of this video cameras now. You've inspired me.

What is this music playing, by the way?

  • To re-create the period look, this was shot on film. Not video -- Super-8 FILM!

  • Thanks! Glad you liked it! Yes, it was shot on Super-8 film, which is still made and processed, though pricey. You can find Super-8 cameras for pretty cheap on ebay and at antique stores, though (and hopefully they work!).

The music is from some old exploitation film, but, unfortunately, I am not actually sure which one. Let you know if I remember!

  • the name of the song is called bonneville stomp by the bonnevilles. it's on the surf creature volume 3 comp.

  • i love this

  • And yeah, was that song from webarchive? I need to download a copy for sure!

  • I do not know of this webarchive, but am intrigued. The music was grabbed from the soundtrack of an old exploitation film (which one, I am not sure).

  • @isleyu Sounds like surfing instrumentals. If you like the style put these bands into YouTube: Atlantics, Ventures, Surfaris.

  • I think this was actually my favorite from the filmsploitation show. Amazing song, nice camerawork and editing, and what really makes it for me is the inclusion of some story elements (squares show up, chick likes the beaknik, etc). Also the dancing is great, not too silly at all.

  • Well done! really fab!

  • Bitchen!!

  • I really appreciated this. That is like my dream dance party.

  • interesting Cem-TURKEY

  • nice!
