It also provides a far more dramatic sense to it, and this song should be that dramatic, given the content. She gets up to confront the people, showing her new stance, thus maybe it was because she was showing her feeling of inferiority in progression to taking a stand against them. Just theories. Anytime I saw this song done, she was always sitting until she stands and confronts.
