Amazing that this could have been recorded in 1914 - one of Schubert's greatest songs (based on writing of Walter Scott, with a great French violinist of the older generation Eugene Ysaye, in arrangement from a Schubert scholar and Austrian violinist Joseph Joachim. Eugene Ysaye(1858-1931)
was a Belgian violinist, composer and conductor. He was regarded as "The King of Violin"
