@stillphil Thanx!!!!!!!! I appreciate it! I agree with you.Theres a special way to play the rhodes or Fender rhodes. Its sound is so unique that you have to play it differently from other keyboards,,just like the Clavinet!! Harold really set the standard in electric piano. Just think the first rhodes were made out of a Boeing B-17 pare parts.
dis is so herbie hancock.. I sat here for the full 7ish minutes and jammed along. twas fun I dnt have a rhodes but Im usin Reason4 and I hav a Rhodes MK1 suitcase refill... nice quality. Good fun.. good practice always!!
@ninjastah Thnx bro,, I appreciate that man!!!!!!!! Hey At least you have a rhodes sound tho, but nothing can't beat the real thang!!! keep playin bro!!!!
@kingofkeyboards, sorry for the late reply but not at the moment. This song is not out yet but I'll keep U posted when it do. More stuff will be shown here, just gotta organize them. Thnx a mill!!!
Bmdu69 part 3,,, since I have the legs instead of the speaker power source I had bought a cae sound mini Rhodes power supply. Less stuff to carry. Going to install a dyno kit, a mutron byphaser and a chorus effect on the rail plus a midi kit. It will be my main studio keyboard controler.
Bmdu69 part 2,, i had swaped the plastic black keys for the wood one and the harp side metal blocks for the wooden blocks, I had set the tines and hammer to the herbie hancock spec,, so it sounds like a 70's Rhodes, the tines are the key to getting that70's mid timber sound.
Bmdu69, thanx yeah I agree, I had bought this from a guy at a garage sale. It was origionaly a stage mark 2, I had a 88 mark1 1977 suitcase, I had swap the front rail in the mk2 to the mk1 cause I can fit the preamplifier from a parted suitcase mk2 73 that a store had.
oh yeah , diggin' this lil groove!
Glad to hear you know how to PLAY Rhodes.
"playing keyboard is not the same as playing a Rhodes"
*never thought I'd quote Dirk Diggler but YOU GOT THE TOUCH . LoL !
Harold Rhodes is important an innovator/inventor as Les Paul.
