What good will come out of it for not hunting for sharks? Like what do we benefit from them wondering around the ocean?
I live in California and used to surf a lot. until I was attacked by a shark one day. I got bit in my left thigh and it left a huge mark on my thigh. I got stitched over 100 times but luckily, I survived. Ever since then, I despise all the sharks.

If they were cute and cuddly like panda bears then people would give a f**k about their fate, but unfortunately for them they're one of the most feared animals which is mainly the fault of movies like Jaws and media outlets who over publicize the very few shark attacks on humans. I'm not so sure sure about global warming but the disastrous loss of biodiversity is something that is definitely happening right now and this mass slaughter of sharks is just one small part of it !!!

We swim in their home. If you don't like it people then don't frickin' swim in the ocean. End of story. They're an important part of the oceanic Eco system and that's a little more important than your need to surf or swim.

Ik heb zelf niet met witte haaien gezwommen. Heb alleen wel een 3 meter lange blauwe haai gezien vanuit mijn duikbril toen ik over de achterkant van een boot in het water hing. Als het mocht, was ik erin gegaan. maar het was op mijn stage in tenerife en er zaten heel veel toeristen aan boord.

This is devastating. These sharks need to be protected now that they are close to extinction. Soon, all the dolphins, whales and sharks will be missing from the ocean unless something is done quickly. The Chinese & Japanese need to be educated on what this is doing to the eco system in the ocean. They are wiping out these creatures very fast and our kids and grandkids will never get to enjoy these beautiful creatures. What a tragedy.

I personally fin about 70 sharks a year myself between my trips from the west to the east luv it really the only tasty part is the fin.

This is absolute bull shit. Here everyone is, complaining about sharks killing one human which happens rarely, and here we are killing thousands of sharks a day. & If you really wish to stop/minimize such cruel activities of sharksfinning.
You may consider going to the local ROM office (Registry of Marriage) giving
out phamplets/flyers to the chinese bride/groom-to-be educating/advising them not to serve shark's fin soup on their official wedding day (nowadays I also refrain from eating it)

Tuurlijk zijn het roofdieren, en tuurlijk kunnen ze gevaarlijk zijn, maar het zijn geen mensverslindende monsters. Al die filmpjes die je ziet, zijn misschien wel de meeste haaienaanvallen in de wereld. Ik heb zelf niet met witte haaien gezwommen. Heb alleen wel een 3 meter lange blauwe haai gezien vanuit mijn duikbril toen ik over de achterkant van een boot in het water hing. Als het mocht, was ik erin gegaan. maar het was op mijn stage in tenerife en er zaten heel veel toeristen aan boord.
Haaien zijn fundamenteel voor de ecosystemen in de oceanen. Ze schapen deze oceanen al 400 miljoen jaar.. Als je er meer over wilt weten moet je "sharkwater" gaan kijken. Staat wel op youtube.

This is devastating. These sharks need to be protected now that they are close to extinction. Soon, all the dolphins, whales and sharks will be missing from the ocean unless something is done quickly. The Chinese & Japanese need to be educated on what this is doing to the eco system in the ocean. They are wiping out these creatures very fast and our kids and grandkids will never get to enjoy these beautiful creatures. What a tragedy.
