  • he made me watch this video or else ;)

  • my dad has a hard on for buddy rich...

  • He murders this beautiful song! It was Martha Tilton's favourite song and I'm glad I heard her sing it first.

  • He gets a lot of the words wrong and it doesn't sound like he knows where the time is.

  • I love Buddy playing BRUSHES. Can't ever get enough of this. Makes me cry in fact.

  • 0:38

  • The poignancy of the lyrics deserve more than the dismissive attitude that Bennett gives them --

    I AGREE!

  • If this great song is to be jazzed up, it should be an instumental. The poignancy of the lyrics deserve more than the dismissive attitude that Bennett gives them. There are multiple vocalists on YT that do this song much better. This also goes for another jazz standard, "There will never be another you". Listen to Nat Coles version and youll understand what Im talking about.

  • @dr37sam tony bennetts the man dude shut up!!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting - great stuff

  • This is great jazz! By the way: Trane & Buddy??? It never would have worked; never ever.

  • I first heard this song when Dick Foran did it, in the Abbott & Costello movie, "Ride em' Cowboy." As much as I love Tony Bennett, I like Dick Foran's version better, since the tempo was slower. Doris Day also covered it, and her version was slower, and more enjoyable, too. It's all a matter of personal taste.

  • @ftsjr lol dick foran ???????????? compared to the legend that is tony bennent.

  • @JadeTomZ Actually, I'm a big fan of Tony Bennett. You're right, he IS a legend, and I'm not comparing him to Dick Foran. I just prefer Foran's (and Doris Day's) version of THIS song. On Youtube, search for Abbott & Costello- I'll Remember April- Dick Foran. It's the scene from "Ride em' Cowboy." You may agree with me, or you may not, on who's version is more to your liking. As I said, it's all a matter of personal taste.

  • wow that's great

  • is tony wearing a soft top !!!!!!

  • hah buddy's face at 1:58 after the bassist's solo

  • Tony's version is OK but check out Frank D'Rone's video of "April" - clearly superior!

  • @bzockster Amen! I couldn't agree with you more.

  • @bzockster Sinatra owns this song...

studio recordings are MUCH different then live singing as you know.

  • Yea, Buddy Rich was the world's Greatest Drummer. He played some very mean drums. Would have loved to hear him play with Coltrane & Tyner & play all that busy stuff behind Coltrane & McCoy the way Elvin Jones did. Buddy certainly had the chops and could really kick ass the way Elvin Jones could.

  • There is a hell of a lot of talent on this stage!! It looks like this was part of a TV show...& you certainly don't see this kind of musical talent on TV anymore! God Bless All of Them!

  • My Late Dads favourite.

Rip Dad-Buddy Rich the worlds greatest drummer

  • Any Body with half ,a brain knows this was agood gig, some idot put red down if your man enough e Mail Me.

  • This video makes me cry. Buddy playing brushes thruout most of the tunes, Tony doing his thing. I bought this many years ago, it's a classic. Get it if you can.

  • Where was this recorded?

  • Tony is fabulous with his April soft-bop

  • Great song but he is just a little too cute with the vocal. Always thought he was way over rated.

  • British tenor player and British pianist amazing!

  • Is that an afro on Tony? Hahahaha... it's just nothing that I would ever expect from him!

  • c'est bon de retrouver le vrai jazz ,le seul ,celui des grands !

  • rip danny moss

  • :48....beutifallll

  • I'm the first

  • congrats

  • I second that

  • *applaudes you
