When I am older I want to have a water birth if I get pregnant. I don't want my baby to be drugged up when he/she is born. I want my child to be born naturally the way God intended it to be. In a relaxed environment surrounded by family.

@edactori More natural, and most people agree that its less painful etc. In the hospital you are stuck in a painful position for hours which is harmful, but home birthing and water birthing you can be more natural about it. And its not a huge risk, since until her face hits the air, she wont breathe.

Idk exactly why but women's bodies are great in water. From periods to giving birth. its all better in a pool.

I'm pregnant now and i do really interested to birth in the water, just like what you did. But yesterday when I went to my obgyn, she didn't agree with me. She said that the waterbirth process will cause hypoterm on my baby. But on your video,, I see your baby is just okay....This is a good inspiration for me, and now I'm looking for the maternal clinic around Indonesia which provide waterbirth process. Thanks!!

@truereality101 How you doing? Don't give in to the naysayers about having your children with you. My older daughters were always at the birth of their next sister, at home. I've never ever heard one story where it went wrong having the older sibling there. Except in the minds of those who believe birth to be trauma-based and/or no nothing of home or natural birthing. You do what you know is right. Children love what's normal & natural. My girls are much closer to each other for it also.

I would love to be able to give birth on my own naturally, just like a mother of the wild who knows exactly what to do, and with no multpiple scrub-wearers running around. There'll be no males in the room either besides my husband, hospital or no; I believe it's a sacred female act and am so glad women have the option of whoever they choose being with them.

At times it makes me feel like a failure, until I look in my Son's eyes anyway.. I'm pregnant with my second now, and I'm really hoping for a VBAC. I have noticed that a lot of women about to deliver move from side to side (in a way that almost looks like a dance but clearly isn't a dance).

Is this a way of just relieving the pain? Is it like an alternative to punching a pillow for example? or is it necessary for some reason for their muscles?

The "dance"  facilitates internal rotation and descend of the baby

@ZawadiSimone Exactly SNBCANDWW. It eases pain, helps to relieve pressure (nothing like being stuck in bed, on your back... and having the wonderful back labor), helps the baby to drop (the natural law of gravity).. it has tons of benefits, and helps Mom cope.

One of my OB instructors told us of a case that a waterbirth (with no assistance from a midwife) resulted in the baby drowning :( because they did not bring the baby up fast enough. She said about a 10-15 second float up is ok but it is possible for the baby to drown.

An OB WOULD say that. Most OBs will not do a water birth. They are VERY safe! I LOVED my homebirth/waterbirths. The stats are on the side of homebirth everytime!
