this just shows the world what the US women's team is capable of. The 2011 women's world cup was a great tournament for them but a dissapointing result in the end. Hopefully they reach gold next year in the olympics and the 2015 world cup. GO USA!!

So, it turned out that Hope Solo has been truly an exceptionally good goalie. Those close calls, the ones that's saved by deflecting the ball by a finger or two or an elbow... they're what make the difference between the winning & losing teams, if both sides are well matched. And Germany's womens are usually very good. Their goalie, unfortuantely, made a few errors. She should have, could have, been able to knock 2-3 balls away, to make the losing not looking as one-sided...

can we not televise these games. i watched it to see if maybe there was a possibility that a women's sport was half way to decent. i was greatly mistaken. this embarrasses their entire gender and our country. i just hoped they played a bad game and germany played an even worse

Love Julie Foughty (hope I spelled that right) as an announcer. She's just fantastic at analyzing the flow of the game. But I agree with her that Wambach's penalty was questionable. Abby was definitely looking for that call. She knew the defender had her arm around her and Abby just fell in the box. She's one of the most fit women strikers in the world. No way that contact should have taken Abby down. That being said the US still romped. Nice job
