I do know that a tv like this one can only play back movies in mpeg-1 and mpeg-2 (maybe more I'm not sure) but most of the HDTV's today can only playback certain movie formats,picture formats etc...Best bet is to take your brand name of your tv,along with the model number and search online what movie formats that can be played back on your tv via a USB stick...Hope this helps you :)

most TVs have several inputs. that negate the the need for a input selector aka switchbox as its known here... HD TVs usually have atleast 2 HDMI, 1-2 AV inputs,

1-3 component input and a TV audio out 1 digital and one analog.. this suits me ..

that is why you get warranty, all LCDs have some form of faulty in them. Standard warranty is not enough with current LCDs. People should learn to pay extra when it comes to electronics. Heck! even my PS3 has a 3 year warranty, my current samsung screen has 2 years. Its being smart and covering your ass

Sony has a number of class action lawsuits on their projection tvs - they knowingly sold tvs with defective optical blocks and are refusing to do anything more than offer a discount on another tv. Odds are you'll be getting another replacement tv - but NOT a Sony....(stick with Sears, though - great customer service!)

To have no cracking noise you need to go to sound settings on your PS3 and set the speakers from 5.1 surround sound to 2 speaker. And no cracking. Happened to me.

Oh btw about the HDMI poping. This may actually be the tv ive seen some HDMI sound not handle 2.0 sound to well. But also ive seen HD channels also have a poping sound before also. I suggest using the ps3 on some movies and see if it pops. Also a 5.1 surround sound with optical inputs is a very nice thing to get i really recommend it. HDMI for 5.1 is also a nice addtion but if you do it like that ud have to run ur ps3 threw a recieved then back to the tv which can degrade pic quialty.

Make sure you set the Color Tempature to "Warm" if it doesnt have warm set it to "Low" It will seem more red at first but is actually the NTSC standard color temp. Cool and Neutral give off a 2 blueish image.
