@jspeegle Lmfao, youre funny. Nothing tops a DW collectors seriers with DW-9000 hardware. Or a masterworks or a reference with p-3000 hardware. How many drummers endorse Sonor, compared to Pearl and DW?
@antonioaquila - sonor's highest end products are superior to anything; sonor does not have as many endorsers because they don't just give their products to anyone; you have to actually be a great player and teach clinics. no other company in the world does this. you'll find many of their endorsers purchase sonor drums themselves for many years before being granted endorser status. these aren't things you'll learn in your musicians friend catalog.
@antonioaquila You're an idiot. Eventually you reach a point where all hardware has a limit, no matter how much you pay for it, 300 dollars or 150, they both will do the exact same thing. At least where stands are concerned.
@antonioaquila No dumbass, I'm saying that Pearl 1000/2000, DW 9000, Tama Roadpro are all pretty much equal in quality, the only difference in price. And actually, even DW said that the 3000 series stands are basically equal to the 5000 series.
Moving on, they are pretty much all equal in quality, for the professional levels. They all have their own "feature" though. Comparing boom stands, the Pearl 2000 has the gyrolock tilter and the extra boom arm, the Dw 9000 has the cymbal seat adjustment, and the techlock. Tama's really isn't anything special though.
@ShittyMcPoopyBalls *Canadian prices* The Dw9700 stand is $166 and the Pearl BC-2000 is $185. I haven't included the Tama, because the tubing is smaller, and isn't really anything special.
Your Dw3000/5000 reply is quite funny though. Have you compared the weight/features? They said it because of MARKETING.
In conclusion, any stand will hold a cymbal, but the more expensive ones will have more features, better/sturdier design and will not move on you at the rate of a cheaper one.
@antonioaquila You really don't need all these insane features, it's all marketing, and it's not like people are mounting 28 inch crash cymbal with the boom extended all the way, most of the stands on the market are overbuilt, Tama's is the best one, seeing how it offers an infinite angle adjustment and has a very rugged base, that's all you really need.
@antonioaquila mate, just because a company has enough money to endorse fuck loads of drummers, doesn't mean they make the best drums. sonor is like a high end mercedes or rolls royce, DW and pearl are like toyota and hyundai, yea sure, they're cars, but its all personal preference, but don't dare go and tell people who know and lives drums and tell us a hyundai i30 is a better car than a Mercedes Maclaren.
@jspeegle I own a DW collectors series, with 9000 pedals, some 9000 hardware and some 5000. Also a drummer endorses a company because he/she likes the quality and the treatment.
how nice... back then it was all made in Germany

Every company has budget & high-end lines. SONOR's high line stuff is the best of the best.

@jspeegle ever heard of Pearl and DW? Sonor is not "best of the best."

@antonioaquila - SONOR's high-end lines are FAR superior to anything Pearl or DW has every made.

@antonioaquila Have you ever owned a high-line SONOR, DW or Pearl kit? Endorsements is all about marketing & $, not the quality of the drums.
