@csxmansam... the sad thing is; They're all gone here. Not only the tracks...the factories too. Good payin' jobs'n'all. There are a few short ones by the lakefront- though seldom used. Amazingly, one of the busiest(and longest) street-runner is that "Jack London Square" in Sacremento, Cal.- of all places! It's also on u-toob. I checked it out on Google Earth and half of it's a 'park' now- which is cool- sit an' watch trains all day- in the shade, w/a near-by deli! I'm going to googearth ns192...

Whaddausin? 350mm or 600mm lense? The big-guy- I counted near 10 seconds 'till the engine made it to where he was walking- I mean... it is after all- a public street upon which CSX shares ROW... and maintenence- Everyone in the shot LIVES there; The trains are an everyday thing... Same in BFLO when I was a kid and these street tracks were all over town- NYC, Penzy, B&O, Lehigh,EL&P, et.al. I'd hopped the fuggin' thing

That brought back memeries growing up in monroe n.c.Thats how scl used move.Seaboard took the term fast freight to new hights.The ns train going down the street.You think people would know better.Some times its like common since has packed and moved to another country.

What is the route called when the NS is going along the road

The term when the train is on the road is called Street running. The NS Route its self is the R-Line, and as for the block its the 6th street block.
