Detroit had no choice. He wasn't producing with us... Doesn't mean he isn't good. He is a GREAT player, but chemistry he didn't have. Obviously, he has it with Phili now though! Great player!

Its great to see him doing well in Philly, but I don't miss him in Detroit at all. He was not producing any points for the most part and we had to move somebody. He just didn't fit with our style of play, and thats a tough thing to do considering we put him on a line with Z.

Leino played his way out of Detroit. Any sadness about the fact that he did well in Philly is purely the product of hindsight.

leino absolutely one of the best players in play-offs. here we saw again, does players have to be superbpro's in league, if they can make the decisions in playoffs?

leino player brilliant, even tho flyers lost.

Leino was already in Finnish SM-liiga known to be a tough guy in the most important games. He is Finland's Johan Franzen, a man made for the playoff games. Regular season doesn't motivate players such as him.

We really had no choice. It just wasn't working out for him in Detroit, he wasn't putting up hardly any points. Plus moving him free'd up some space. I'm happy things are going well for him in Philly. Nobodu doubted his talent, he just needed a change.

@TrueBloodTimeLord I know this, but he was just going through a rough patch. He had/has so much potential, the way I see it, he was our next generation diamond in the rough. Much like Zetterberg and Datsyuk 10 years ago.

He has terrible numbers this season. Not too stoked on getting rid of a D and 5th round pick for an O that isn't doing shit and could potentially bring a line down. We'll see though, I'm hoping he turns it around this back half of the season.

This is quite a bad comparison but check out Ovechkins statistics from before he came to the NHL. What I'm going after with this is that a lot of young players fail to perform to their potential early on, and while Leino is not exactly a kid anymore he's still a newcomer in the NHL, and still looking for his game and confidence most likely.

If he'll produce in the future is left to be seen, but from the goals he's scored so far things seen promising.
