ITS ALL ABT SEX,DRUGS N ROCK N ROLL SO THE MUSIC WILL ALWS BE DA SAME N AFTER ALL THE STROKES IS THE BEST N ALL BANDS HAS TRE ON DARK SIDE SO KEEP IT ROCKIN N BE URSELF WIT DRUGS,SEX OR GO WATCH CARTOON NETWORKS....LOLZZZZZ
@MrSuperBobbydillon The Strokes' set (and performance) was a stiff load of shit. So if they're worth your time, then evidently you only have time for stiff shit.
@MrSuperBobbydillon Standing in one place the entire performance, and barely putting any effort into singing. If you're not going to play any instruments, at least put more into your presence on stage. Julian seems to think it's enough, him just being there, for a good show. Well anyway, I think the amount of people that left chanting "JARVIS" after The Strokes finished their set goes to prove my point.
@SamuelEllmer I kind of understand how you felt. Julian was much livelier and sang better during Phrazes and up till the first couple of shows for this album. Sober Julian is pretty self-conscious at big venues, it's just that YouTube/media has immortalised the wild, drunk Julian we've came to expect some rock star antics. Love this show though! The songs are so good! Well, they may or may not have internal band issues. I'm just glad they are still playing together. Love them. Just my opinion.
@DiamondCutsHerEye I mean, the songs that I like of theirs, when they played them, I enjoyed. But unlike Pulp before them, throughout the rest of their set I was bored. Sort of like "where is this going?"
@SamuelEllmer OMG dude Pulp were so fucking boring. Jarvis kept chatting shit and some of the audience were just waiting for The Strokes to come on afterwards. Standing around doing not much is The Strokes' thing. They don't try and be cool, they are cool. You have to think about it from a money point of view, their manager and record company have probably told them to act this way, it's good for selling records, since no one else does it. I never even heard anyone chanting Jarvis afterwards.
@Incubus941 You know that like, 90% of the reviews of Reading were praising Pulp's performance as the highlight of the festival? I was right in the heart of the crowd that night, and I didn't know where the Strokes fans were tbh, I stayed though, much to my inevitable disappointment. They didn't even close well, Julian didn't know wtf was going on.
Also, "cool"? Really? Are we 15 and living in the early 90s?
@SamuelEllmer That's because people bumlick Pulp cause it was a comeback gig. I was right at the front aswell you twat and the break between Pulp and Strokes was the most crushed I've ever been in my life at any concert because there were so many Strokes fans waiting for them during Pulp. I remember during Pulp at one point everyone around me started chanting 'strokes' cause no one wanted to listen to Pulp's shite music. And cool is a word everyone fucking uses, stop trying to be a hipster.
@Incubus941 There was definitely no crushing to be had in that crowd. I remember the crowd withering when The Strokes came on, that's for sure, because I was finally able to breathe in cool air. But definitely not to the extent that you seem so adamant to believe there was.
@SamuelEllmer You're just talking shit to back up your argument. Me and my friends always tell people about how crushed we were getting in that break. Also, I didn't see a single girl or woman in that crowd throughout the whole performance, it was all men. And obviously the crowd didn't wither. You do realise that STATISTICALLY the strokes had the second largest crowd after Muse.
@Incubus941 Also, dipshit, if you're at the front OF FUCKING COURSE you're going to get crushed! Doesn't fucking matter what band you're seeing! Albeit, Pulp fans are less like the screaming 13 year old fangirl Strokes fans, blindly following anything their music magazine deems as 'cool'.
@SamuelEllmer And no you won't necessarily get crushed. For example I was at the front of and Alter Bridge concert this year and it was the least crushed I've ever been in a concert even thought they're a metal band. I was also at the front of Muse, Kings of Leon and Enter Shikari, all without being crushed. So shut the fuck up, or get your facts straight. The Strokes was the craziest ROCK concert I've ever been to.
@SamuelEllmer Oh btw NME did a review of Reading and chose The Strokes as the better band [than Pulp]. I think I've figured out what you're problem is. You're one of those people who thinks of themselves as a sort of connoisseur of music, and nothing but the obvious stuff is good enough. Why can't people have different acts and chose to express the music that they wrote in their own way? The Strokes gave an amazing performance if their type of performance is what you like, and that's that.
@Incubus941 Ex-fucking-scuse me you absolutely nonsensical fool, but I actually DO like The Strokes (for the most of almost every fucking song of theirs sounding the same can be) and would like to bring up your final point "if their type of performance is what you like, and that's that." If it really is "that's that." then why the fuck did you bother arguing with me in the first place? Why bombard me with these pathetic lies about people actually enjoying their gig more than Pulp's?
I do believe this is my absolute favorite live video of these guys. Awesome quality. Obviously done with tender loving care. Thank you for the night "out" with The Strokes. Keep up the good work!
@mcfcful mate i am from india... and been in reading was itself surreal for me... i can never in my wildest derams could have seen the strokes in my country. I made it to the front row and lived my dream. It was honestly 1 of the best concerts of my life tho...
@topcatiscool ur not a new york city cop are you..ha..mixture my good man, probably some that create a green haze over everything haha...im already waiting for them to bring out the next album.
I seen them in Portland, Maine in 2002. It is amazing that it has been 10 years.

Their first song was Is This It. Funnily enough when they finished their set, I left thinking Was That It?
People; Pulp, My Chemical Romance, Madness and Muse are the ones you should be YouTubing. Their performances will blow your mind.
