@MotorheadDrew - I agree, Moonie is my favorite for so many reasons but there is nothing brilliant about this solo clearly not his strong suit. In his prime and surrounded by The Who's music he was pure magic and that is where he was able to really shine with the abilities he was gifted. Bonham had mad skills and could play just about anything, Moonie was....well he was Moonie- a perfect fit for the Who. Moonie would have had a hard time in just about any other band other then The Who.

@MotorheadDrew Yes, you are correct. He had the technique and brushing skills to solo. Unlike Moon, Ward was taught different principles of percussion therefore had an overall better sense of composing a solo. Plus ward preffered jazz percussion and its clearly heard in all of sabbaths music.

Moon and Ward are my favorite drummers cause of their raw passion but Moon was a little more structured in that he kept to his forte where as ward was very improv

@DMan4792 Listening to Bill ward was a Big Eye opener for me when i first started playing drums when i first heard the paranoid album it felt like a fire or summin had been lite in side was a huge influence its shame hes so underatted, but is quite upsetting wht exsessive alchol does to Drummers :/

I think he's an alright drummer. But his drumming doesn't appeal to me. This solo doesnt go realy any where. It sticks to 8th notes. No fills, riffs, rolls, or any others.

Bill Cobham Carl Palmer John Bonham Ginger Baker Kieth Moon Travis Barker Jon Theodore Why? These drummers know when to take-over, when to jam with their band, and when to just provide rhythm. Speed does not make a good drummer. More drums doesn't make a better drummer.

I agree. Speed nor size of kit. The only time I like a huge kit is when the drummer knows how to use one. Not for looks or attraction. Speed varies on skill no show off. This is why Mitch Mitchell and Terry Bozzio are my favorites.
