@thirdchild1111 I can not respond to the Bee Gees, as I have not listened to them. As far as Conway and George, they are both great. If todays stations would play Ronnies current music his hit count would go up. When I stated that no one can come close to Ronnie Milsap, I was referring to his talent of singing soo many different style of music ... Blues, R&B, Country Pop, Country etc. His voice range alllow him to sing a variety of styles .. not just country. Thanks for listening :-)

@dbelleburr The Bee Gees weren't country, they were most famous as a disco act in the mid-late 1970s, so they don't count. As for the crossing over, Conway crossed over once ("You've Never Been This Far Before"). Wikipedia claims that Strait once made the AC chart, but it's not exactly the most reliable source in the world.

Nine of those 20 hits made the top 40, with the biggest being "It's Only Make Believe" which spent a week at #1 (pop, not country) in late 1958.

@CharlieAndRonnie Unless you were referring to "You've Never Been This Far..." being the only big crossover hit of his country career (he was a rockabilly singer prior to 1965), in which case you would be correct. He did have five other Hot 100 singles from 1970 onward but none made the Top 40.

I was talking about the country star who more people know about; as a country star, Conway had just 1 Hot 100 hit (making the top 40 being the requirement for a hit), which made the easy listening (now adult contemporary) top 10. That's what I was talking about if it makes sense. W/ Strait, he made the newer pop 100 a few times, but if it counts, I don't know. Among full-time crossovers, RM has the most #1s.

Did (CW died long ago) they have the ability to sing any type of music in general like blues, R&B, soul, rock, jazz, funk, pop, doo-wop, adult contemporary/soft rock, country, disco, and even operatically-influenced recordings? Also, they have co-produced their records, but w/ sight. Try doing it w/ your own studio & the aforementioned WHILE BLIND.

The title of the song ... "Solo Cup" ... really? and a few days later .. "Camaflouge" ... These artists need to sit down and listen to some Milsap and rethink things .. just my opinion

How i miss this type of country music. In many ways i feel Country music stations, and artist sold out years ago. Ronnie Milsap, John Anderson, Oak Ridge Boy's, Alabama, Conway, Earl Thomas Conley. Miss them all ): Who remembers when Toby Keith, Trace Adkins, and George Strait all did this type of music 20-30yrs ago and they were all hits? My kids think that these guys have only been around a few years and are shocked when i pull up their old hits, LOL.
