@SheLookedLegal No I'm right! Hip Hop was created by Kool Herc and Africa Bambatta In the South Bronx IN 1972. Hip Hop was all Black before any one else got Involved In it
@breezwonder Not even close, Hip Hop was created as an outlet for the poor (which in turn was minorities at the time, but there were poor whites, blacks, latinos, etc). When Herc started the movement, it was primarily to help keep the youth out of gang violence and the other troubles of the era. Hip Hop Culture is UNIVERSAL, it claims no color, politics or bigotry. It's about coexisting. It's power for the people. If you only see in black and white, you still got a lot to learn, man
@jointsmokinsamari Not even close. "The Poor" people you are referruing to were Black people bro. I thinkk you are tryingt to call Hip Hop Universal because of the Impact opf It and what its become. But you can never change the foundation. Hip Hop Is a Black movement that we started. NO one never said their are not poor people from other races but It does'nt mean they created Hip Hop, they just have embraced It.
@breezwonder Poor has nothing to do with color "bro". Everything I said went in one ear and right out the other. I'm not going to argue it. The majority was black that started it, but hip hop has never claimed a color EVER. It is like I said, you're only seeing it in black and white, hip hop is bigger than that. It bridges cultures, genres, and people. Your statement is just pure ignorance
@jointsmokinsamari I never said poor had anything to do with color. Your argument stated that "poor people" made it and I am said the poor people you are referring to were Black which is our culture
Slider Mos Def (or whatever he calls himself Now) is the best non underground I've heard when it comes to off the cuff freestyling.
Finesse is tight but will bite from some of his other songs. Big L could produce ill freestyle but more was pre-written and Nas as well (same story though pre written and that)
@TerritorialPissings7 Thank you. Eminem also used mostly per-writtens in his freestyles. He had pocket written lines to use in battles just in case he was fucking up, but I never let the fact that an artist can't freestyle deter me away. Being able to freestyle just shows how fast your brain can generate rhymes like the video where Mos Def is outside freestyling, smoking a blunt, around a crowd of people. It was simply amazing.
@slider4life Sir, I applaud you for being a Lord Finesse fan like myself...but you are very wrong. He CANNOT freestyle. This is NOT a freestyle. He spit these bars on the track Lord Finesse - Set It Off Troop. Mos Def freestyles off the top...and is legit...and he is easily, if not, one of the best freestylers. You can find a couple of his freestyles here on youtube. I nominate Mos Def for best off the head freestyler. I'm not trying to stir an argument. I'm a huge Lord Finesse fan
I love this video... damn - I wanna rewind the time back to 88' and live it one more time -til' 98' - and when 98' is over, I don't care what's next, take my ass to hell, bust a whole clip in my ass, I don't care - just let me repeat that amazing decade one more time. :))
I don't get why finesse didn't blow up like a mothefucker. like he's some underground artist, he's worked with the greatest and his style is dope as fuck
@deathsimm LOL big L can not freestyle, are you sure? hes the best freestyler and rhymer of all time--he could take biggie, tupac n big pun on a battle
@earlmccormick88 respect, Big L got his whole style from Finesse...but Big L just took it to another level. Much respect that YOU know this! Most heads dont!
@earlmccormick88 I nearly slapped myself when I stopped listening too lord finesse instrumentals and listened too his style. This man was like the jesus of hip hop. @RichardDukie Lord Finesse was Big L's mentor. At this time everyone did think Lord Finesse was better than Big L, and honestly he probably was, Big L didn't come up with his best rhymes yet. Don't disrespect Finesse, he's somewhat of a legend. Boy you have a lot to learn... The fact that you would call Lord Finesse a "kid" explains it.
@alphamale227 thats you're opinion not mine, but I suppose you're right, at that point in time Lord Finesse was better but at the end of the day Big L > Lord finesse, I wouldn't say he was Big L's mentor. Big L met Lord finesse on a whim at a autograph session for Lord finesse, I believe anyway. I wouldn't say he mentored him. And personally I dont like Lord finesse's rhymes
@RichardDukie you just admitted you've never heard of him before, you did 5 minutes worth of research and now you act like you're an expert on the situation. stop playing yourself. no one cares what you would say, the fact is finesse mentored L and helped him come up, and L has said that and paid his respects to finesse many times. don't talk if you don't know.
Everytime I hear this nigga I get pissed. Who shot this nigga? Why he have to die? Of all the Rappers who coulda died they had to shoot this nigga? Yet niggas like Plies and Waka Flacka Flame still walk this earth making CD's.

Lord Finesse's rhyme style is so fluid and precise. I don't see how anyone can diss him and say he's "weak." Dude is nice.
