Having an accent isn't a problem. But in this case it is that some American tries to speak in a language he can't speak at all. If Sutherland could speak russian at least a bit his pronounciation would be way better - with american accent. The same thing happened when he spoke German. He cant speak German, so his pronounciation is simply wrong. It is no accent, it is just wrong pronounciation.

Having an accent and complete wrong pronounciation is not the same. In this video the last is the case. He doesn't know the words he pronounce. he just immitate the words like a parrot. And that's a huge difference to actually be able to pronounce the words correctly. Accent doesn't bother at all in that case.

Acctually Bauer is the only one pronouncing it right. All the native Russians pronounce it wrong. Because It's Jack Bauer.

But the next sentence comes out like "Mne prikizali okh--?--nyat zdes'." - "They told me to guard here." Nothing about a building or which side... and the grammar is nasty.

If he wanted to say "I was ordered" I think he should've said "Mne bylo prikazano"

The only bad Russian accent was the Drazen's character played by Dennis Hopper but since he's a cool actor it didn't matter that his accent was horrible.

Plus, this Russian accent by Bauer is way better then his German accent in the awful Season 8

and it's hard to believe that the german accent was even worse than this russian accent :P. because i needed the subtitles to figure out what he was trying to say in russian
