  • great song choice man

  • nice vid, nice music

  • looks like a crapper version of grand ages: rome

  • Whats a good sight for RTW mods that will work for macs?

  • by the way very nice video

  • get some phalanx to phalanx action

  • that spartan unit,.

is it a Mod or Skin ?

if it's a skin then can you tell me where to download ?

  • what spartan unit?

  • this game is kickass rtw, i got it

  • i thought that was really well done.. cool. my friend has this game im pretty sure

  • i have a windows vista with 1 GB ram, AMD anthlon 64 X2 dual core processor 4000+ 2.10 GHz (i have no idea what any of that means) will this game work on my computer?

  • @xXxDylan8milkxXx go to can u run it and find the game you want then click the button

  • U B Havin too much tech,yo.

  • love the song

  • Thumbs up just for that comment :P

  • aerials

  • german axeman and roman legions are dead :D

  • spear-warband is also enough ;)

  • u can never expect to beat a phalanx like spartans or armoured with legionaries BUT IF U MANUVER and flank they just simply do the work hehehe that is why i like more legions cuz of the fast tingy and the hoplites are fuking slow and are waaaaay very vulnerable to cav. flank attacks...just my opinion TOUGH a legion with mercenary hoplites at the rear for cav flanks is UNSTOPPABLE

  • roman phalanx? did that even existed?

  • no romans never used a phalanx their army was alot more flexible they preferd flexible armies as u can tell this because they used a checkerd infintary line so they can manouve round the enemy to surround him easily or just reinforce the main battle line easily

  • the romans in the roman kingdom days were alot like the greeks, the phalanx was standard by the romans back then

  • shure but i have never heard of a roman phalanx so i will have to see PROOF ! : ).. the romans were pretty shit until the marius reform who made rome into the war winning famous troops : )

  • @tecna64 the romans never fought it phalanx formation they used their short swords to get past the spears with their shields then massacred them with the short swords

  • @ltjosh10

Like I said, they did fight in a Phalanx formation when Rome was a City State.

Which is from the founding of Rome up untill the sack of Rome in 350 something BC.

After that defeat they made their army more flexible.

With the introduction of the Maniples they overcame the limitations the Phalanx had.

    Might want to read more.

  • Yeah, it did. They learned a hard lesson from the greeks, adopted the phallanx to be more rectangular in shape. That meant a larger proportion of your troops are in the thick of fighting than the square greek formation allowed. Worked great until the hit and run tactics of nomadic Hun cavalry.

  • YAY, System of a Down!!!

  • If rome also used phalanx they would be way over powered, and would be nearly unstopible,I wish they used Phalanx when they counquered around the're time.

  • No way, phalanx was outclassed when Romans conquered the world. Roman success was based on quick, disciplined and well equipped legions. They proved better against all those armies that still used the phalanx.

  • They did!. That is probably a large part of why the lasted for fifteen centuries, or so. But Rome didn't fall from the failure of the army. It was internal. The corruption of the aristocracy rotted the Empire from the inside.

  • Awsome finish with the cavalry charging over the hill...And romans never used Phalanx formaition they had a conpletly different fighting style..The only Pikeman in the Roman army would be Mercenarys and Auxilaries

  • don't you think they would have tested it first though?? even if the greeks were losing their power they were still much stronger than the romans in the erlier days

  • You would have thought but the romans combat was built apon tradition. Also they new how powerfull greece was so hey adapted to fighting their phalanxes by bringing in the large sheild and the short sword the Gladius. This ment they could litreally advance through a line of spears or form an unpenatratable wall of men and enable them to create formaitions such as testudo or the origional roman square makeing them strong on both the flanks the front and able to withstand charges into the rear.

  • the one bad thing abou this game is the lack of romans phalanx

  • well, the romans never really used it at that time, so why bother? besides, legionaries in RTW are very good. granted not better than a phalanx head on, but good for outflanking the phalanx..

  • Dude thats cool how he made the pikemen look like spearmen.

  • lol there short because he put the unit detail on low

  • lol even in lowest quality they're longer then that...

  • wow tell me, how did you make their spears so short instead off being 25 feet long????

  • Comment removed

  • the game is called ROME TOTAL WAR

    you can play it online

you can buy it on the internet

    no the grafik is great

  • What iis this game called and can u play it online?

Where do u buy it??? and it does look badass

  • this game looks badass, is it playable online? and is that a custome map? cause thats some nice eyecandy

  • i just used the "Extended Greek Mod" and the "Animation Pack v. 0.8" and messed around with the spears until every unit used short spears. it's not really intended to be that way even with the mods but i hate the long spears.

  • Totaly, same here

How did you get them short?

  • Ahh men you NEED to send me the link where i can download the short spears or send me the script dude!

  • You would have thought but Rome was built upon traditions of the samanites wich had that king of fighting style. Although greece was a mighty power the romans new this and therefore their milatry fought with the huge sheilds...too large for a phalanx formaition..these sheilds also would mean they could batter away the spears and enabled them to use formaitions. (a square for example) where they could withstand flanking

  • @jarroddavenport thats why your "spear" is 3 inchs long

  • Dit you use roma surrectum? Because armoured hoplites don't have short spears and I thought that there were armoured hoplites in you video.

  • Greeks and spartans are my favourite faction for Rome total war. + one of my favourite songs! nice video!

  • spartans arent a faction....

god ever since 300, all these greek boy raping fanboys popped up... the movie is overated and inaccurate a fuck. and the speedo's are gay.

  • lol, true

  • agreed.

  • hey dude can u tell me how to shorten the spears on the hoplites becasue i hate the giant phalanxes and i want the spears like urs

  • The thing i find interesting about RTW, is that it portrays the Greek Phalanx like the Macedonian Phalanx..... oh well...

  • good song !!

  • it was ok but all they did was march around for half the time

its awsome if you do about 300 spartan hoplites v.s. a huge army of light parthian infantry and make them fight at a bridge

  • because he has good computer

  • and how u get armies this big without it being slow?????

  • how come there are no banners abve units??

  • You can turn them off

  • nice video! i got a couple of my own rome total war greek fights if you wanna check it out

  • uh, i dunno. i used the smallest for some shots and the largest for other shots.

  • How many soldiers do you got in one unit?

  • i would say count them if you want to know:P

  • nice cool real

  • nice
