Hello, I followed just that but how come my pictures come out yellowish and kind of dark. I was trying to shoot pictures of some lipsticks. Please hellppp!.. thank you! :(
I'm guessing your white balance is off on your camera. You'll need to set it to your lights.
Are you using daylight bulbs like I show in the video? Other light bulbs or lamp shades can make pictures off color. Sounds like you could use more light too.
@stampit74 thanks for replying. i don't know how to adjust the white balance of my camera, i have a nikon coolpix s4000. no, i wasn't using the daylight bulb and only using one light. i got the light bulb and the rest of the materials at home depot. i asked the attendant for "white light"...not sure what he gave me but i think i got something else. thanks!
Thank you for replying. I made mine yesterday and have three lights total. One on each side and one on top. Works perfect for what I need it for. Thank you bunches for the idea.
Have you tried a light source coming from the top or front to get ride of the gray you were talking about? Amazing little box, going to try mine this week for mineral shadow photography. Thank you for the idea. One more thing are you still using the same lights or have you found something brighter?
I am still using the same lights. I don't want to put a light directly in front because it wouldn't be diffused then. I will try one over the top again... I have before and can't remember what it does...at the time though I wasn't using this light tent. Thanks!
thank you Alan - the sizes are posted on my blog...just click on the link above and it'll take you right to the post.
White t-shirts might be too heavy...depends on how much light they would let through... you just want to diffuse the light a little. I've used lightweight white fabric before.
Awesome video! Congrats! I think it’s the best vid I found in the internet. Could you please post the measures of the pipes you used in your light box project? I suppose I can use white t-shirts instead of shower curtains, right? Once more, tks for the video. Alan.
YES! it does! as long the watts are high and they are the daylight kind.... I think mine are 6200 K. I show the bulbs I have in the video. I LOVE it and use it all the time! Oh, I already said that but it's true! lol You're welcome and thank you too!
This is really brilliant!! It works well with just the two lights?? I'm not too handy and I'm not sure I could build this but it's worth a try. I need one a little larger. My friend makes handbags to sell on ETSY and some are totes and some are smaller. I think I'll show this to her...maybe she can build it. Great idea you have here!! Thank you for the great presentation.
I'm looking to make my own light box and this is one of the neatest frames I've seen yet. Thank you for your good explanation. Is the finished size a cube?
The ability to fold is just too cool :)

You mentioned that you used an old shower curtain. Is the shower curtain fabric or vinyl? Good job!!
