A beautiful song too. I wonder if the simple reading might be the singer wonders if he isn't going to commit suicide or OD soon or return to smack or an essential organ might give out...yet another reading which comes to mind is those heady days of youth return in memories when times are far from romantic and a longing temptation to return to innocent dissipation comes with it...only innocence is gone and one really does need to resist those thoughts.

Reply#2 : I wrote 'In The Past' initially as a reflection on the journey I have made...good times and not so good....with regard to the girl referred to...well..there but for the grace of god go I...I have my moments of questioning many things..but I am still here...still writing...still singing...I am alive.
