1) The creation story must be either entirely bogus, or heavily settled in metaphor. Where else have I read about metaphorical explanations about the cosmos? Other religious holy texts.
2) There are really messed up stuff done by people in the bible. Is this more likely to come from an all knowing god who wanted to write a book to help humanity? Or bronze age men in the budding stages of a new religion?
3) There's a lot of magic, and supernatural events in the bible. I've never seen a supernatural event or magic in my life. With the access of information today, wouldn't it have been confirmed in some way if there was a suspension of natural law? Therefore, the bible doesn't seem to be describing my reality. It looks like just another old fantasy.
4) The entire thing just seems silly. Its simply hard for me to consider that an all knowing, all loving god, would screw up this much.

Nothing in the bible that i found says anything of wives let alone women aboard the ark. The hebrews made up the old testament and the romans mad up the new testament. And, along those lines civilizations are built very close to water sources, that's a necessity. Many of these sources are rivers and lakes which tend to flood... what a coincident.

Here's what happens when I use "common sense" to read the bible.
1) The creation story must be either entirely bogus, or heavily settled in metaphor. Where else have I read about metaphorical explanations about the cosmos? Other religious holy texts.
2) There are really messed up stuff done by people in the bible. Is this more likely to come from an all knowing god who wanted to write a book to help humanity? Or bronze age men in the budding stages of a new religion?

3) There's a lot of magic, and supernatural events in the bible. I've never seen a supernatural event or magic in my life. With the access of information today, wouldn't it have been confirmed in some way if there was a suspension of natural law? Therefore, the bible doesn't seem to be describing my reality. It looks like just another old fantasy.
4) The entire thing just seems silly. Its simply hard for me to consider that an all knowing, all loving god, would screw up this much.

But it seems that women were on the ark however who they were and that they were wives of the brothers seem to be added in later books.

"...LORD your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally"
So what God says goes? So if he tells you to kill, then killing is OK?
