  • I want to make this album, but I kinda got lost with putting the bags together

  • @sexsavannah43 If you check the video description, I updated it with a link to the original version of this album. That tutorial goes much more slowly, so you will see how the bags are attached to each other & then you'll be able to more easily see how the modification works. Hope that helps!

  • You do such a great job presenting your videos & your paper bag book is awesome. I cannot wait to make one myself-thanks.

    Amy

  • this paper is gorgeous! i like how you used a strip of paper on the gutter. must try that out next time. are you doing a halloween mini this year? (i bet you are (^_^) -loved your spooky tags you made last year). tfs with us!

  • @tshernjpan Not sure what kind of Halloween project I'll be doing this year, but I have some ideas swirling around that I hope I get to try. :D

  • Wow, you make it look so easy. I am loving this paper collection, the colors are gorgeous and I am off for pt 2, tfs

  • Ok I've got to ask ... Where did you get the big rolls of the red line tape????? I've only found small ones...... Do you sell your albums? I'd love to own one???

    Thanks for shareing !!!!!!

  • @ohhowcutebycyn I buy a generic version of the Terrifically Tacky Tape that is imported from Germany. I get it in bulk from articusstudiodesign . com. It's very inexpensive and it works great, but it's not acid free if that is something that is important to you.

  • @ohhowcutebycyn Oh, I forgot to add that I do sell some albums and make custom albums. If you're interested, please send me an email at thescrapbeach at gmail dot com.

  • I just love the way you have made this album

I love the colours of the minds eye collection what size is the paper collection it looks like its 8x8 am I right?

Just have to make this one!

    thank you Kathryn

  • @Ammiel7 The paper collection is the My Mind's Eye "Sunshine" collection from the "Lost & Found 2" line. The outside of the bags were predominantly decorated with the 6"x6" papers & the 12"x12" papers were used for the large photo mats inside the bags. MME does not make an 8"x8" pad, as far as I know. I wish they did, because that is my favorite size!

  • Thank you Kathryn

I lookeda t my collections of papes and I have some paper bags 4.5 x 5.5 I can use those

I will make it when i come back from Vacation I just love that album

    thanks again

  • Hi. Love the albums you have made. saved them to use asap. Thanks so much for sharing the tuts with us. Only problem is we can't get the bags over here in the UK. Not fair ! So will just keep watching and saving till I find some bags to use. hugs viv x

  • @pepsigirl1956 I know it's hard to get the paper bags overseas. Have you tried looking on eBay to see if there are any sellers there who will ship the bags internationally? I needed a large quantity of white paper bags once & I got them from eBay.

  • Oh wow, thank you for the step-by-step tutorial. This is so great! I truly appreciate your time and good heart for teaching us this process. As a beginner this is very valuable. I'm watching the other two parts :)

  • I mean 5x6.25

  • Is the chipboard cover 5x6.5? And what size paper-bags are those. I've just started making mine want to make sure it's right. Also is that the 12x12 papers?

  • @sexsavannah43 The chipboard covers are 5"x6.25", I used the larger size Celebrate It brand bags from Michael's & the album uses mostly 6"x6" papers to decorate the bags and 12"x12" papers to make the photo mats that go inside the bags.

  • Totally awesome work...and how you explain the steps is also great....Pat

  • i love how your mini paperbag came out! totally made up my mind to purchase the 12x12 papers too :) tfs

  • I finally got to watch this one! Love it, Kathryn! I wasn't thinking about getting this collection until I saw this mini posted on your blog! Now I think I really NEED it! Beautifully done, as always! Thank you! :o)

  • Love how you put this together, thanks for sharing, I'm going to give it a try!

  • @cindysms Have fun putting it together! Crafting is so much fun. :D

  • Thanks for sharing your paper bag technique. I think it will make a nice, clean looking album!

    Trudi

  • Absolutely wonderful as always...can't wait to ee the next part! TFS

  • Great technique. TYFS. Best Wishes Lucinda.

  • Kathryn, what do you use to cut your chipboard for the covers of your albums? I have tried a craft knife and that hasn't worked well for me. I guess I am craft knife challenged but my paper cutter doesn't work either. I have the fiskars cutter, I don't remember what it is called but it has a blade and a wire. I have asked other people what they use but no one has responded. Thank you and I love your work. I have watched all of your videos. You are very inspirational.

  • @deborahdoesscrap I use my paper trimmer to cut the chipboard I use in my albums. My paper trimmer is the Rotatrim M15, which I have had for three years now and absolutely love ~ it cuts totally straight all the time. Before I bought the Rotatrim M15, I used a large steel ruler and a box cutter to cut my chipboard. I have also heard of people using a quilting ruler and a rotary cutter. Or you could cut the chipboard partway through with your Fiskars trimmer and finish it off with a craft knife.

  • You did an awesome job! I am afraid to do something like this, but you explained very well, I'll give it a try!

  • Thank you so much for showing this technique. It's beautiful :)

  • Kathryn...Wonderful clear description on album...thanks loved it!

  • Another great mini technique, Kathryn. I know what you mean about that MME glittery paper. Sparkles are EVERYWHERE! Huffing Krylon fixative....BLARG! roflmbo. You are hereinafter the crowned queen of the paperbag mini in my realm {{{curtsey}}} Sharon :D

  • @NJGardengirl1961 Thank you, thank you! ::bows:: I like my new crown. It is very sparkly ~ like the MME papers. ;D Their glitter is very pretty, but I do wish they would seal it in with some kind of coating, because it was everywhere! And it took a while to spray all the papers with the Krylon, lay them out to dry, etc., etc., but at least that cut down on the shedding problem!

  • Really nice I like how neat it came out you make it look so easy :)

  • Ohmygoodness.. this went by so fast, but I think I get the gist of it.. (I see where someone else commented the same thing so I'll check the link :) ).. I'm going to be making a min album using this same paper line, but it won't be a paper bag album... I will be trying the paper bag album though because I love the way it came out...

  • @mssoftbrn Yes, it kept the editing pretty tight because this is a very slight modification on a paper bag album style that I already have a tutorial on. If you check out the link in the video description, it goes much more slowly and you can see everything clearly. Then when you watch this video, you'll see the modification & it will make more sense. Hope you enjoy making a paper bag album. I haven't made one in a while, but this reminded me how fun they can be!

  • awesome...

  • This is really pretty, I love the paper! I never would have thought to cover the "gutters" with the paper! It gives it such a more finished look! You always rock the details!!!

  • Love the way you attached the bags thanks for sharing it really gives a lot of room for bulkness which i love to add alot of goodies to my mini's but then have the problem of closing them

  • Hi Kathryn, what editing program are you using. If you have windows movie maker its simple to remove the box but need to know what prog first.

  • @Shonz14nw I don't use Windows Movie Maker for my editing. I did use WMM to rescue the frames from the corrupted file & it was actually WMM program that added the black box. I appreciate the offer for help, but it's not a big deal. I already edited and uploaded the video & my normal editing program doesn't have this problem.

  • Super little mini, thanks Kathryn, I like the variation and the "sunshine" paper stack. Look forward to the next video.

  • Ok, I love how your doing this paper bag mini....I'm due for another!! I will for sure save this video to my favs!! Paper is so pretty too! Can't wait for the next part!! Thanks so much girly! xo, Jules:)

  • Awesome! Love the paper. Tfs.

  • Gracias a ti por darnos este maravilloso tutorial. Bss

  • Really nice Katherine! I love the binding and this paper collection really surpised me when I saw it in person....I am not a big yellow fan but this one is just amazingly beautiful (and it was sold out at the local sb store before the other L & F collections). TFS and cannot wait to see the embellished finish!

    *gina*

  • @Scrappinology I agree that these papers are much prettier in person than they are online! Really lovely! Many of the papers from the collection were beautiful, but this particular grouping stood out to be the most ~ probably because of the unusual color combination.

  • TFS

  • Thanks for this, Kathryn. Your videos are wonderful!

    ~Hope

  • Can't wait to see the process of the embellishment. You're right, these papers are very pretty, the album like this is gorgeous. It's hard when it happens ... ;D Off to part 2. Tfs, hugs, Vron

  • thanks for sharing :)! have a great week! *hugs* steph :)

  • I love your youtubes! of course I love your ustreams too.... I guess I just love it all LOL. "see" you thurs. Deanna

  • what is the name for your red double-sided stick tape?

  • @Louiseliande I buy a generic version of the Terrifically Tacky Tape that is imported from Germany. I get it in bulk from articusstudiodesign . com. It's very inexpensive and it works great, but it's not acid free if that is something that is important to you.

  • Thank you for sharing this method...looking forward to trying it! And looking forward to your finished album!! :)

  • I would love to make this cute album, but it went a little fast for me to under stand the bags attaching together. Cute cute

  • @MRose4411 If you check the video description, I updated it with a link to the original version of this album. That tutorial goes much more slowly, so you will see how the bags are attached to each other & then you'll be able to more easily see how the modification works. Hope that helps!

  • glady to see you kathryn, i love this paper, i was getting high off it when i first got it lol talk about chemical smell, i love watching your series, excited!

  • @scrapstress LOL, yes it did smell strong! And I made it worse because I didn't like how much the glitter was shedding so I sprayed it with Krylon fixative and made even more fumes! :D

  • love it already missed your video I am glad you posted. thanks for sharing again and again. XO

  • Nice tutorial. :-)
