(cont'd) but I just COULD NOT come up with a new tune that was GOOD and I greatly admire those who can. I also think it's absolutely astounding how many different melodies we can make out of the same old 8 notes, by varying the timing of the notes and the arrangement of them. If I ever could have invented a song where people would really feel it meant something beautiful for them, that it reached their 'soul', I would feel like I accomplished the best thing I can think of. Hats off to CCR magic.

Yes, a living legend indeed.And a musical genius to boot. I would say that John Fogerty is as talented a song writer as Paul McCartney and John Lennon and I would put him up against anybody on this planet and bet heavily on him to be better than all of them. I used to love playing guitar and played many of their tunes but the thing that always bothered me until I just gave it up, was a lack of imagination for inveenting a new MELODY.
