"Today" is really like a poem, very inspring indeed. thank you for sharing John Denver's version. what a pity that he passed away that young ! p.s. i'd like to find Glen Campbell's version of "Today" but failed.
the song likes a poem. every time in life suffering by this wild world, this shall remind us : do not forget the joy of life of a slight human being. Let enjoy today.. Wish John Denver rest in heaven.
John Denver, just awesome!!! i sang this song in the 60s and 70s. Josie loved this song we sang it together, then she went to be with the Lord on July 4th 1970. We'll meet again in the presence of our Lord. I still sing this song but i changed one line..."a millinon tomorrows shall all pass away [but i wont forget] all the joys that are mine today"
Love the song... Forever a John Denver fan, for all that he did, all that he was, and all that he stood for... RIP my friend... It's a shame that you cut the song short. Peace
I've been a fan eversince John is beautiful inside & out. Watching him in concert & listening to his music shed me to tears. Your music touches my heart .Thank you for your music.......
I've been in love with John Denver since the early 70s. His music opened up and melted my heart. Time, space and his death have not changed that. Once when he was in concert, he left the stage and walked out past me with his guards. I will never forget the smile on his face when I reached out and touched him.
my father always sang this to me when i was young. it'shis favorite song. he passed away last motnth, and he's probably happy now listening to john denver in heaven...
This song reminds me of my mother, when I was little she would sing this song to e every night and through all that we have been through it reminds me how much I love her. I love you Mom
@Sepia1989 the chinese version is actually a different song with different melody. they only inserted part of john denvers song into the middle and titled it Today. its in my favorite playlist. its by 梁詠琪
This song was in a movie with another John Denver song!!! The two songs were "Sweet Surrender" and "Today" and the movie was "The Bears And I" (Randy Sparks wrote "Today") - released July 31, 1974 (USA) by Disney!!!! It was also Randy Sparks that suggested that John Deutschendorf change his name - becasue Deutschendorf would not fit across a recrod label!!!!
another favorite when my great grandmother was alive ild sing at the nurseing home and she loved this song i sang it to her all the time before she left her home and after they took her to the nurseing home . this is mewmories for me
i learned this song at hummingbird music camp, jemez springs, nm. everytime i hear the word today i think of this song and that reminds me im not in paradise
Thank you joannrodis2006: what a thoughtful and touching tribute video to John Denver!!!
This is my favorite New Christy Minstrels song! John Denver was a member of this 1960s folk group (which began in late 1800s by a Mr. Christy). I never heard John Denver sing this song himself. It is not on the CD collection I have of him. So, this a special treat to see him perform it.
I cannot believe he's been gone over a decade now. So much change on Planet Earth since his death. Miss him!
his voice is so soothing I'm at peace when I hear his voice. my boyfriend & his sister were surprised that I wanted a Cd of him. I said I like anything that sounds good. & RIP John Denver
My first concert in 1972 when I was thirteen was John Denver at the Spectrum in Phila. This song just popped into my head this morning and I had to hear it. The tenderness of the beauty of life that this song converys is unequaled. Always one of my favorties. John is missed..
I love this song so much I was overdue with my first child and listened to this song all the time! She's 31 now, but I have such fond ,memories of this song and had the pleasure of seeing John Denver at Brighton shortly after!
In 1964. just as John was beginning his career, we spent several weekends together at a friend’s house. It was first time I heard “Today.”
John told me that the lyrics told a story of sea captain who visits a port and falls in love. But the woman is concern about him leaving and never seeing her again, and he tells her “today while……” and John told me that the song “Today” is how we should love, that we love and live in love for “Today.”
This is my all time favorite for John Denver to sing because of the sweetness of his voice. May you rest in peace, John. We all love and miss you and your wonderful voice.
I love everything in 60's & 70's, through happiness & sadness, through richest to the poor, I can feel the colours, the beauty, the culture and the pain for that moment.... eventhough I born in 80s.
My daughter's fiance just asked what song my husband and I danced to for our first dance at our wedding in August 1969.....I had forgotten but Jack remembered.....Today.....I never even knew that John Denver had recorded it....we've spent a lifetime together and the days just keep getting better and better...thanks for this lovely tribute and a beautiful song
This song has brought back such special memories for me...I am sending it to my daughter "Today" so she also can share in this memory....that was just ours !!!!
I was blessed years ago to have met John before a concert at West Texas State University in Canyon, TX.....this was right at the time Rocky Mountain High was blasting up the charts. We were gathered in a small cafe across from the campus and he sat and joined in like he had known us all his life.....Which kind of in a way he did, he was one of those Kindred Souls that you only run across a few times in a lifetime. A most humble man that loved each moment and the concert was just so great....^0^
this song means so much to me and my family. this was my grandmothers favorite song. she died in january 2003 losing her fight with cancer. i miss her so much she was a wonderful woman who loved everyone. we played this song during the funeral. grandma i will always remember what you taught me and i will never forget you. my first daughter will be named after her.
This song means so much to me. It evokes so much emotion. we sing it on the last night at hummingbird music camp and everyone is absolutely in tears by the end
This song always takes me back to 1979 when I first heard John sing it at Wembly arena. John had been doing some rock songs with an electric guitar and backing group. Then he changed the atmosphere totally and sang this song with just his acoustic guitar accompanyment. The atmosphere in the hall was amazing. You could have heard a pin drop.
after my grandmother passed away, I listened to John a lot. This song always brings tears to my eyes. No more beautiful song than this one. Thank for putting it on here.
This song brings back memories from girl scout camp in the late 70's. It was a favorite at Camp Manistee, Michigan. I haven't heard it in over 20 years. Thanks for posting!

Thank you for posting this, I loved John Denver's music. I wish I could have seen him live. This song is such a sweet song, in fact it is bringing me to tears. You where taken from us to soon. We miss you
I am sorry that you never got to see him in concert. I saw him four times - twice in Indianapolis, IN, once at Bloomington, IN, and the last time at Noblesville, IN. I cried when he died and I cry every time I hear a song by him. Today is one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
I have always loved John Denver's music and his inner feelings towards nature he has protrayed in his songs. I especially love this song and your tribute to John with this video was truly beautiful, loved it.

Ang galing naman ng pagkakagawa ng music video compilation...ikaw ba ang gumawa ng tribute na yan? Fan din ako ni John Denver!
