I could be wrong, but I think this song is about someone losing their faith. "Guess who died... The only god of mine" seems almost playfully irreverent. "Speaking fire he would hire pawns and peasants just like me to feed upon the conquered ones. But now we are free" is pretty straight forward to me. I don't really understand what the metaphors of drowning, taming champagne, or selling his "gold" for flowers and rice could mean. I have some ideas. Thoughts or other opinions? Beautiful song.
I won't sit here and tell you what everyone who has heard this song knows, but I will say that in the past few weeks I've been listening almost primarily to folk songs and that it seems like now it's just natural to think that Agnes Obel is one of the greatest folk singer/pianist that I know.
hauntingly beautiful. this song truly resonates through you. it gently reverberates from the inside out, leaving you quietly shivering with the chills of her silky smooth captivating voice. you're fantastic anges obel.
i'm looking for Jamie from omegle.com from holland. PLEASE thumbs up so she will be able to see this. if u see this jamie, e mail me to chixla@live.com. Joseph.Thumbs up
This song has suddenly got complete new meaning for me. After I was involved in a car accident a few months ago, while listening to this song.. I keep thinking about the sound of the car crashing towards the grund, making somersaults, everytime I hear this song now.
The sweet tones of the harmonic piano-tunes.... has turned a memory of a tragic experience.
I 'm french. I listened your emotive story. The truth memory is in depth of soul and all or part may release a feedback when voice vibrate the more sensitive strings.
Me too, I love heavy rock and metal, gothic, alternative, industrial metal. However sometimes someone captures my attention. I have just found Agnes Obel today and will have to buy her Philharmonics album she is wonderful. I love the video to Just So and the atmospheric photographic images of her too. You might want to check out Kristina Bill, Lissie, and Natasha Khan of Bat for Lashes also along with Sigur Ros.
I'm more of a fan of heavier music, but sometimes stuff like this just widens my spectrum and makes me see the beauty in music as a whole. Wonderful song!
This is awesome
