This washer is identical to the one we had back in the 60's. I remember when it would shift into these spin cycles, always thought it was going to take off! Mom loved it because the clothes were almost dry. Kept that washer till 79.
@DudeDie222 Indeed. It seemed like washing machines in many countries REALLY lost a lot of the good features they had in the early years (like fast spin, bleach "dispensers" that actually "dispensed", and didn't just "funnel"). I suppose manufacturers though they could more or less put out an extremely crappy product, but as long as "no one knew (or cared)", they could charge just as much for an inferior product.

That reminds me of the 'time-travel machine' that my brother and I built when we were kids. It only worked for cats though.

I have an idea that normally washers like this only spin about 500-700 rpm, but this one 1000!!

Frigididaires also reached 1140 rpm when made in the 50's.
