  • Hey, was the "filmstrip" scratches a webcam effect, or did you really digitize a filmstrip movie? Just curious. BTW, I would think the "closer is louder" makes more sense.

  • @dadinck Windows Movie Maker LMAO (yes I use WMM because I'm poor)

  • Those things are so creepy.

  • noice theaman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! goot jobs!

  • FREEBIRD!

  • Cool theremin. I see the volume antenna responds in reverse? (louder when approached?)

    Thanks for posing.

  • Yes, the volume antenna response is reversed. The man who designed it, Arthur Harrison, believes that "closer for louder" is more intuitive to the human brain. His designs really break out of the traditional theremin mold. Just search "145 theremin" on Google and the first hit will be his page for the design of this theremin.

  • Cool. I'll check it out. thanks. By the way, the band Xenovibes uses a theremin with reversed volume loop.

  • Is this the only Theremin you've built? I'm curious, thinking about building my own and contemplating the alternatives.

  • This is the only one I have constructed. I chose it because it uses only transistors instead of vacuum tubes like a traditional theremin.

  • Thanks! The 145 is interesting, but I'm still looking around. Great job by the way!
