  • If we hire these scumbag PS cops through our tax dollars then we have the right to record them as they have there right to record us. why must cops become scumbags to try to prove such a point and then the low life prosecutors and lawyers along with the corrupt Judges which is in one class are all lawyers defending themselves against the people who have made it possible that they have a payday. we the people should just quite voting for such filth and quit paying our taxes

  • Fuck that keep in recording

  • America is so dumb at this kind of stuff, if I were to record a guy shooting someone at a public building and i show it to the people i would be given a big thanks for helping them find the shooter, but if i record a police officer beating and unarmed, unresisting person i would be put in jail for disturbing the peace? Fk American, not proud to be one anymore...

  • Fuckin stupid

  • So the guy that killed a man gets 2 years? And a guy that recorded someone got 75 years? FUCK THE POLICE AND THE GOVERNMENT FOR ENFORCING THIS LAW!

  • This is also the ONLY state that denies the right to own a handgun. I hate all these liberal states that are steeling all the freedoms from the people. I feel if a cop is doing the right thing then they should not need to worry about being recorded.

  • @altec2k2k I don't see how this is a "liberal" thing. Just drop the stupid conservative/liberal paradox already. if anything it's a facist thing.

  • I am scarred to death of Illinois. I will never drive through Illinois again or visit there period. It's the Police State headquarters. They don't want transparency for a reason, because they're the most corrupt cops in the world. Criminal acts from the cops in Illinois are as normal as breathing. Particularly stay away from the Ottawa cops. They are the worst criminals I've ever come in contact with by far.

  • Federal Law supersedes State Law, It’s no longer illegal to video tape police!

  • This is happening alot more then you think. They are arresting sooooooo many people. They have alresdy started arresting and sending people to prison for "TERRORISM". WHITE FEMALES, and getting away with it. If they were not doing anything wrong then they would not worry about their actions on video. It shows the truth and that they do not want you to see!! If some of you only knew the "TRUTH" about our so called "JUSTICE" system. It is a for "PROFIT INDUSTRY" THEY ARE SELLING PRISON STOCKS!!!

  • "They're using it as a shield law to protect public officials from any kind of public scrutiny."

  • @MikeHansonArchives

If the first circuit rules it unconstitutional, it is unconstitutional EVERYWHERE until a higher court rules otherwise.

  • RON PAUL! THE GOOD DOCTOR! VOTE

  • We gotta stand up people. Shit is getting out of hand. The cops and government works for us not the other way around.

What possible reason could they have for not wanting you to film them? It's so there is no evidence of their misconduct.

The more people that film them the better they cant do shit about it if lots of people are doing it.

  • Amazing banks can sell the US ECONOMY to China. Government pays the bonuses for the CEO's. Citizen standing up for his rights 75 years in prison.

Maybe we shouldn't have split from the British Empire? They got problems too, but they can't possibly be this fucked up.

  • @startreking2007 the problem is we never really split from the empire

  • It's bullshit !!!!

  • every person that works for taxpayers, i.e police, firemen , congress any of these people should be made to wear cameras with voice recording that is activated by movement or noise, and then we could see and hear whos making the bad deals and screwing america and americans. all public officials.

  • Its not illegal in any state to film police. It was appealed Sept 1 2011 by the first circuit court of appeals. Look it up and film away!! Don't let the rumors fool you!

  • Ron Paul 2012!!! He will fix this!!!!

  • I live in Illinois. O_o

  • Next time police are recording you: Make sure you tell them "I'd like to let you know you don't have my consent to be recording me. If you will not follow my wishes, then I will record the events also, in safety for myself and you". See what happens then

  • Thts messed up

  • Comment removed

  • wake the fk up US people!

uk people , notes on my page regarding your rights to video on my y/t comments.

  • Boy, they love trying fill our prisons. Police are such scum. I dont see anything wrong with what this man did.

  • wow... that's so fucked up, yet the police record all traffic stops and arrests, etc without consent.

  • In time, "we the people" are going have enough of this shit and when that day comes, it'll be a day of reckoning. You watch. You'll see.

  • You better listen to Naomi Wolf on a closing society. It's happening!

  • Who fears the TRUTH? Only the GUILTY.

  • Here's something: Leave illinois.

Let the state wither and die

  • @zoebiflap

Sears is actually thinking of leaving Illinois

  • Man, the judge who initially sent this guy to jail for "violating her privacy" should be relieved of her duties as a public official and perhaps have charges filed against her. She would have done a good job serving under Hitler, but she is obviously too incompetent to be in a position of any legal authority in a functioning democracy. Same goes for the police chief and any of the other shit rag cops involved in this.

  • If that is a law then police should take their cameras out of their cruisers because they do not have OUR consent... and also if you want to get into it.. all surveillance cameras should be banned due to lace of police consent because they are bound to video tape one sometime.. It's like this.... if it benefits you for their wrong doing, it's illegal....if they can't tax it, it's illegal.

  • @JMcMac21 lack*

  • He is fighting for our right to free speak... Way to go! He is my hero...

  • Some states very their citizens as subjects.

  • cops are such piece of shit scumbag thugs. Only reason its against the law is because they cant abuse the fuck out of their privileges if someones got proof of their childish, skumbagish, thug like behavior. Ive had a prick take me to jail 1ce, I had 170$ in my wallet- it was gone when I got my wallet back and told me it was taken because its drug money, fucken bitches

  • @Ac1DGoD Don't break the fucking law bitch! You sit on the computer talking shit about cops then say you been to jail, no fucking suprise there.

  • @unlimitedsupra Don't fucking tell me what to do. You wanna abide by all the laws handed down to you & constrictions on freedom be my guest. Numerous old people have told me that when they were growin up they had real freedom & the way the worlds going with constrictions on freedom is despicable. Worst part is they get the Bountiful in number lemmings to mindlessly go along with it, before you know it - jerkin offs against the law...& YOU'LL GO ALONG WITH IT no surprise there.

  • I recently had contact with a Swiss Citizen who earlier this year went on vacation to North Korea, he had tons of photos and videos from his vacation, I was particularly interested in photos and videos I saw of NK police with him interacting with them etc, I explained the case of Michael Allison to him and he said to me “I can only Imagine that the U.S. would be the only country in the world were something like this could happen”. I almost started to cry.

    AMERIKA fucking sucks.

  • @biorgymd I think you're full of shit. America is still among the most open countries in the world. It does have many problems, but anyone who thinks the way you do has obviously never been anywhere else where people have it much, much worse.

As for what you said about NK, people don't just go on vacation there, and they would be thrown in prison for videotaping officials in a heartbeat. It has one of the worst human rights records in the world. You really have no idea what you're talking about.

  • @rore5455 I actually live in Switzerland and have roamed Europe, Asia, Africa, many parts of South American and the Middle East. What counties have you been to? I’m sure you being American you also probably don’t realize that Cuba is a huge tourist destination for the rest of the world as well. We in the rest of the world find it laughable how you claim to be the freest most noble nation on earth as your being dragged off to jail.

  • @rore5455 Oh by the way, your government just passed a Bill making it legal for your military to arrest and detain indefinitely American Citizens on your own soil without charges or trial. Being raised here in Switzerland we were taught that this was an abomination to a free county. Also, just in case you haven’t noticed you no longer live in America, you live in the Homeland. Thank God we here in Switzerland are protected under the Geneva Convention.

  • @biorgymd I never claimed that America was the freest and most noble nation on Earth. As far as civil liberties are concerned, we are falling behind most other industrialized countries, I will admit that. But to compare the US to NK is absurd, and anyone who claims NK has a better civil rights record than the US is obviously ignorant of the situation there. Also, I would like to see the military try to arrest anyone indefinitely. They would not get away with it. Youve watched too much Alex Jones

  • @rore5455 I never compared the U.S. to NK, you can’t call yourself a free county when you put people in jail for 75 years to life for videotaping the police in public performing their tax paid duties. We actually heard of the Military Bill here on our national news, the headline was “Really, a Free Country”? That’s the point with indefinite detain without charge or trial, you won’t hear about.

  • @rore5455 Oh by the way, I want to clear up something, when you visit North Korea there are a lot of restriction if you are on a Journalist Visa, especially from the U.S.A., of what you can and can’t videotape etc. those restriction don’t apply for those on a tourist visa. Having that said, we know for a fact that there was restriction put on the Media the other day when L.A and Philly cleared the Occupy Protesters.

  • @biorgymd I think your facts are wrong. You cannot visit NK without a guided (government ran) tour. Also, I read the Financial Times (one of the most objective UK newspapers) and have never heard of that Bill. You don't think people would notice if the military were to kick down someone's door and kidnap them indefinitely? Like I said, we have our problems, but we have it really good in the US. The standard of living for most is comparable to Switzerland minus our health care.

  • @rore5455 LOL, the Bill was just passed on Tuesday, your President has said he would Veto it if the Senate left in the indefinite detention of American Citizens so let’s see what he does. Funny the Senator McCain the ex POW was the one who is sponsoring the Bill, the bill was actually debated on your Cspain. I don’t ski so I can’t tell you if the skiing is better in CO. Also, just know that I’m on your side. Everyone here is on your side, we support you the people.

  • @rore5455 Regarding NK tours, I’m not promoting NK as a tourist spot, I wouldn’t go there. Americans can go there it is very strict for Americans, less for other nationalities. The NK hate Americans when the American Media is there they put great restrictions on what they can film and this is what you see in America, meanwhile, how many news organization have covered Michael Allison? The US condemns other countries and when they do it ,they just say they are protecting your Constitution?

  • @biorgymd Also, I live in Colorado, and have skid in Switzerland. No comparison. Colorado has the world's best skiing conditions!

  • Recording than Freespeech expression,

"Dictator police" is obviously corruption criminal

  • The reason the States drop charges, is because they know they will lose on appeal, in the Supreme Court. (Which is where one of these cases will end up - sooner or later.)

The only purpose for these laws, as applied, is to intimidate the public, and to deny the public evidence of Police misconduct. Pure and simple.

God bless the ACLU, as they fight for our RIGHTS.

  • @skeilak Please correct me if I am mistaken, but the State DID NOT drop the charges and has full intent to proceed forward to a higher court. Michael Allison is still under bond and his freedom highly restricted by the State? Personally I think it’s extremely noble for Mr. Allison to continue the fight he deserves a medal honor of freedom for doing so, having that said, I think he should flee from the Fascist U.S. to a real free country and seek asylum.

  • @biorgymd

First off, the United States is not "Fascist", but you are most certainly, a childish, attention-seeking troll.

Secondly, if you could show me an example of anyone convicted under these "creative" interpretations of wire-tap laws, and had that conviction sustained by an Appellate Court, I'd be most grateful.

Failing that, perhaps you'd be wiser to avoid embarrassment, by only pontificating on those subjects of which you have some actual knowledge, or understanding?

  • @skeilak

Well, there are actually thousands of these cases, and there are hundreds of people who are imprisoned under these circumstances. It’s very interesting that I don’t even live in the U.S. and am aware of these cases and you’re not? I stand corrected, the U.S. is not Fascist.

    The Fatherland- Socialist/Nazi Germany

    The Motherland - Communist Russia

The Homeland – An Unspeakable Bastard crossbreed of the two above!

    Velcome to za Homeland.

  • @biorgymd

Oh really? Thousands of cases, and hundreds imprisoned, you say?

Well, than I'm sure it would be a simple matter for you to prove you're not just a pathetic Attention Whore Troll, and cite a couple of dozen such people, wouldn't it?

Or maybe even just one? Just to prove you're not a total ass-hat?

I suggest you stick to yodeling and money laundering, which is all you Swiss seem to be good at.

  • @skeilak

You poor Americunt, endless wars and greedy arms corporations have sucked you dry. It’s like the sucking and slithering sound from silence of the lambs. Dollar printing, dollar depreciation, dollar deception, pathetic economy, who is going to buy your worthless and useless debts, what will you do if China backs out? You don't produce anything now except prisons, war machines, missiles, bombs, and stupid Americunts like you who continue to believe the lies and illusions.

  • @skeilak Oh by the way enjoy your indefinite detention without charge or trail.

  • @biorgymd

I believe it was Rodger Bacon who said, "Tis the way of mongrels and curs, to nip at the heels of their betters."

It is in that spirit, that I take your silly, ignorant, and very childish remarks. Apparently, a Swiss education contains more holes than your bland cheese.

What a weak, laughable, and truly pathetic little gutter-snipe you are.

  • @skeilak The Swiss education system is ranked 6th in the world, the U.S. is ranked at 14th.

  • @biorgymd

    Oh? Is that a fact?

So what you're saying then, is that you're just a particularly stupid Swiss troll?

    I can agree with that.

No reason to indite a whole country for the personal failures of just one of it's citizens, is there?

  • @skeilak I don't know what we would do without that organization

  • @AngryAgain

I think we'd suffer, with far fewer freedoms than we enjoy today.

I have occasionally, strongly disliked some of the people/groups the ACLU has defended, but I'm a rational adult, and I understand the meaning of the saying, "I may hate what you say, but I'll fight like hell for your right to say it."

  • So, let me get this right: It's okay for some blond bimbo (Casey Anthony) to kill her 2-year-old kid & go free, but it's a life sentence for recording police brutality?

Gee America, that makes so much sense.... 😒

  • ok so the patriot act is illegal in ill going by this correct? Oh wait the facist govt enforces laws by and when they see fit. Another revolution is within decades.

  • From WIkipedia:

"Illinois courts have ruled that "eavesdropping" only applies to conversations that the party otherwise would not have been able to hear, thereby effectively making it a one-party consent state."

How is it eavesdropping if he's essentially recording himself? Also, how come they can confiscate your equipment?

  • it does not matter what "laws" they pass. VIDEO IS THE ONLY WAY TO PROVE OF THEIR ABUSE. they are public servents. That is government protecting it's wrong doing abusive armed thugs. period. people are not stupid, that is protecting yourselves from scrutiny. you are the ones who are stupid if you think people will not see this for what it is.

  • Police and record us but we can't record them...land of equality? I think not. Illinois and their law enforcement agencys are broke, corrupt, and complete bullshit

  • 75 years? Not right... Should of just been a fine at the most

  • thats bullshit, but 75 years is just crazy.......

  • Awesome video, great he did not back down. Pleas look at my channel riverratheather. Please help me to spread and expose.

  • Even in Russia you can record cops! (no consent needed)

  • Is this democracy? I had no idea USA is in this deep shit.

  • Illinois is stupid

  • @Pizzaparty152 u have know right to bad mouth illinois.......... fagget

  • God bless america. LOL FUCK YOU XD More proof of a corrupt government. Good job america, you never cease to impress.

  • FUCK YOU, ILLINOIS.

  • @EatTinker suck dick bitch !!!!!!!!! u do not have any right to say that about illinois

  • @blancora10 Actually, your mother's pet name is 'Illinois'. That's what I call her as she swings from my nuts. So when I say, "fuck you, Illinois," I'm talking about your momma, not your precious state. Is that better? Does that stop you from crying? You're welcome.

  • whata shit country

  • STUPID

  • poor americans, recording feds a crime? swear down, are there not killers and rapists that they could be ?

  • ...Good luck Allison, I/we hope you win...

  • Justice is found on the blade of a knife...

  • And people ask why I have little respect for police. Good and bad in all, no doubt, but the existence of a few principled cops doesn't mean we can ignore the rampant corruption and abuse of power.

  • nother chi-town clip /watch?v=6s0DAN7CzmE don't slave us bro!

  • It's called KGB!!!!

  • Land of the free, they said!

  • thugs with badges

  • Shit why couldnt they just make him delete the damn video instead of wasting all the damn time and trouble for the stupid thing.

  • charges dropped! yayy...state appealling...awww

  • @justinpaloma The state is really appealing?

  • @enlightened1ish Not yet, just indicating that they will. The state has 30 days to decide. I can't post URLs, but search the archives of techdirt for an interesting discussion.

  • This is outrageous. I mean the extent of the crisis we are in is unbelievable. People seriously need to wake up. The laws they have put into place are unconstitutional therefor in my eyes not real laws. WAKE UP! THIS IS A POLICE STATE! See people don't want to talk about politics because it's a tough subject; well you better start caring before it's too late.

  • The united states sucks now...don't film the SS

  • Now I'm all about establishing a record for the Common Law but it would seem to me that this along with other videos referenced in this one is just another exercise in citizen intimidation. It's healthy to fight for our rights every now and again but if these guys really think they can or, worse, think they should follow-through with nullifying their accountability as PUBLIC SERVANTS to THE PUBLIC (at large) then that's just infuriating.

  • This actually hurts my heart, much love to that man for real, and to the dude that got arrested for selling art.

  • This shit is fucked, I feel bad even though he was released but think of all the shit he got into. Fucking NAZIS

  • Land of the free. Hah. USA is nowadays worse police state than Russia.

  • @Keinapappa - you're an idiot

  • Surprise! I'm an undercover agent. That'll be 2 years per second you recorded me!

  • I'm so happy that the judge in this case rejected charges against Michael Allison as being unconstitutional.

  • As the cops say. " If you have nothing to hide? You have nothing to fear." If the cops are not commiting any crimes. What are they worried about?

  • Thank you Fashion lover. I'm pleased to hear that the charges were dropped...

  • This is a joke put in place only to protect

Dirty Cops / Cops who abuse their power... !! PERIOD !!

  • Comment removed

  • These reporters belong on world news.

  • Class 1 felon? Technically your better off shooting the cop with a gun then a video recorder.

  • this is BS!! I go to LACM and the cops are always walking aound recording us, and god forbid we tell them something because we'll get shot, r tasered, or arrested! why cant we record them, but they can do what ever the Fu-k they want towards us?

  • just as i predicted:

google: "Strict eavesdropping law ruled unconstitutional in Illinois case"

An Illinois judge ruled the state’s eavesdropping law unconstitutional as applied to a man who faced up to to 75 years in prison for secretly recording his encounters with police officers and a judge.

the media really hyped this case, they know joe public wants to hear that government is unjust, so they pander to these know-nothings day & night

  • @sfiorare The media hyped this case? They were doing their job for once at least the reporters in this video were. Rare to see reporters now go after injustice by the police so I give these reporters two thumbs up and a huge thank you for bringing attention to this. Can't stop now though, now we have to go after the law itself and purge it from this state, and indeed the country.

  • @enlightened1ish - yep, it was hyped, 75 years? no way

  • @sfiorare Well add it up yourself. Five counts with a possible sentence of fifteen years each........

  • @enlightened1ish - he was never going to get any time

  • @enlightened1ish ....... Correct !! The rules should be balanced.

  • Record every time you face a cop and worry not about the little badge wearing

  • iLLEGAL?THIS IS A RIDICULOUS LAW AND IT SHOWS THAT WE ARE NO LONGER THE LAND OF THE FREE!

  • iLLEGAL?

  • the charges have been dropped, but still THIS FUCKING OUTRAGEOUS, HOW A STATE STATUTE CAN BE PASSED THAT GOES AGAINST THE 1st Admendment... WTF!

  • @vWaLLBangz True and now wipe this law from the books or we need to elect people who will. This cannot be used against any other person ever. The charges may have been dropped against this guy bu the Orwellian law still exists.

  • hahahhahahaha , america is a joke after the patriot act law ... we are no different than soviet russia, communist china , north korea , you just have the ability to buy more material things than the aforementioned countries ... way to go Micheal Allison ....

  • then the cops should not be able to use dash cams unless the citizens agree to be video recorded as well.

  • Everyone must flood the street en masse with cameras & film, video, photograph, record the police... Your freedom is being taken from you.

  • Recording tax funded employees in public, doing their jobs, should not be illegal. Similar cases, even in IL, have resulted in a jury nullification. What's sad is the moronic States Attorney in Robinson sees no problem in wasting tax payer money for a case that will result in the same verdict, not guilty. I do believe that Allison should have complied with city ordinances though. His claims of a vehicle theft and title falsification ring by local law enforcement is borderline insane. Contined >>

  • Many properties in small towns such as Robinson and Bridgeport are overrun with unsightly junk and those ordinances, although shitty for person getting served, do a lot of good to the neighbors that have to put up with that kind of disregard for property. Like it or not, if homes nearby fall into this it has a direct and negative affect on you and your own property. I've seen it many times. What neighbor isn't going to complain to the city who has defunct cars laying about? I sure as hell would.

  • Folks welcome to the new USSA-Union of Socialist States of America.

  • @RonSafreed

Unfortunately you're right. It is very similar that we in the Eastern European communist bloc used to live like. For us luckily it ended 20 years ago.

  • haha, i love how he calls him Alison

  • Coming soon to your town! Marshall law!

  • My husband and I both think that they're TRYING to push peoples' buttons just so that we will start a revolt so that they have an excuse to arrest all of us! :(

  • Tom Wiesmen you are an Anti-American. I hope your family is ashamed of you. I hope all your friends, if you even have any, despise you for prosecuting this case. I hope you commit a serious crime, and get caught, and sent to Federal Ass Pounding Prison. I bet you are a little law breaker Mr. Wiesmen. I bet your the biggest hypocrite you know. I hope everywhere you walk, people stare at you because your an anti-American douche bag.

No comment? You don't even have the spine to defend it

  • The Officer who arrested this man should be deeply ashamed of himself. That Officer must not have a conscious. I hope he gets fired. Fire that stupid fucking Anti-American cock sucking cop who arrested this man. Don't stand for this shit. I support my hometown Police Officers. And I would be raising hell if this shit was allowed in my state. What the fuck is wrong with Illinois. I will never step foot in Illinois, fuck that Nazi ass state.

  • Also this is just so the cops can cover up whatever they want so they don't get in trouble for doing wrong.

  • I can't believe this.......There are bad people out hurting other people yet this guy that took a video is going to to jail for taking a video. I still can not believe this at all.. Cops just don't want videos of them doing what they shouldn't be doing.

  • This is fucking so stupid and why I believe America is going on a slippery slope down.

  • This is absolutely abuse of power and a huge waste of money to the tax payers.

  • This is truly unconstitutional at all levels and a slap in the face to America's Founding Fathers.

  • I think the reason for not dropping the charges and proceeding with the prosecution of this man is they want to send a message that if you tape the police you will endure harsh punishment. A message of fear and tyranny is exactly what they are trying to send. Let's send them a message back in one massive American fuck you!

  • Good grief! The war is right here at home people. 75 years is the kind of sentence that happens in third world countries that are falling apart. Wake up folks and let's fight for this man as well as our freedoms!!!

  • @Cristasphoto at least the charges were dropped.

  • If this offends you then go to TheCopBlock youtube page and support people in the fight against this

  • Question is, what are we going to do about this?

  • @SoulUltima597 Freak the fuck out or make people more aware of what is going on by showing everyone you know this video :)

  • Gestapo

  • Illinois is the WORST. They are so deep in a shit basket even the fly's are choking.

  • Illinois is the WORST. They are so deep in a shit basket even the fly's are choking.

  • PHUCK THE 5-0.

  • it's freedom of the press - the first amendment - who the fuck let this law be passed - this is some serious bullshit - if policemen don't have to be responsible for their actions - they can do whatever they want. Does that sound like a good idea. Next thing u know they'll be trying to take away our rights to guns.

  • Don't re-elect any lawmaker who supports this law. Find out their position on this before voting and if they are a yay then throw them out of office.

  • Thats fucking bullshit! If thats getting enforced in most states that means the cops can get away with murder and we can't do a goddamned thing about it! WTF!

  • Does this really surprise anyone that this would be happening in Obama's back yard, with friends like George Soros, Bill Ayers, and his Cloward-piven strategy moving full speed ahead. When he took office unemployment ins. lasted for 26 weeks, usually with 1 extention if you needed it, now it's 2 years and he wants to make it 3, in other words Welfare No.2. Also welfare has went up 54% since he took office, once again CLOWARD-PIVEN strategy, he's trying to collapse the West, "his fathers dream"

  • @dawghow

What the fuck are you talking about?

  • Commisar Wisemann has spoken, he says, "even the best of the gentiles should be killed"....

  • Michael Allison is a hero! We must support this brother!

  • @DIEversity202

    amen to that!

  • Comment removed

  • Ron Paul - "The Second Amendment is not about hunting deer or keeping a pistol in your nightstand, its about preventing tyranny."

    Ron Paul 2012.

  • how are you suppose to keep those stupid cops in check?

  • England had it right. Time to get out in the streets and start killing cops and burning down buildings.

The government is supposed to be there to HELP the people not HELP themselves. Time to burn obama and his corporations to the ground.

  • Comment removed

  • this, americans, is why were all supposed to have guns.

  • @SmartiesGoMad Maybe we could use a little help down here from out friends up north. I would imagine that most Canadians look upon the people of this country with pity now. If the situation were reversed I know I would.

  • @SmartiesGoMad I agree as the proper response to something like 9/11 would have been to strengthen and not dismantle our rights. This tells me something is fishy with the government account of 9/11. Regardless though, now we have to deal with this creeping tyranny.

  • This video makes me s
