i feel the same way about the song too. i love this song and movie. i have been a fan of this sine i was 3 years old. but eh opening hook gives me a funny strange utz (a feeling of the past)

@bigbadbeast2007 12" mixes like this one were popular back in the 80s - probably as an additional revenue stream for a single on top of the normal 7". Lots of times they'd be a dance mix. In the cases like this song, they'd mostly just extend the instrumentals, separate out the various instruments and bring them back and forth in the mix in between the verses. This definitely would not have been the original version as no way you'd release a 10 minute single commercially.
