Living in Northern Ireland i took great interest in the Irish vote. They were promised more power if they joined the EU, a bigger voice, more democracy etc etc. It couldnt be anymore ironic as everything they were promised was the exact opposite of what they got!.

We should get rid of the undemocratic EU parliament in Brussels/Strausbourg as this would save taxpayers billions ! The new un-elected commission's term alone will cost us serf "citizens" one billion Euros (source : Open Europe).
If the EU were serious about helping Greece,the "European project" and the Euro....the burocrats would be willing to take a big salary cut rather than voting themselves pay and benefit increases !
Its the political class vs the people. At least we have some sound voices in Europe but look at the majority of them! They get more money in a year than most people see in a lifetime!
