I have had a plate for an overbite, my braces were put on 6 months ago I still need them for a year and a half and somewhere in there I will have to get a tooth witch is trapped above my palate pulled forwards into the gap my STUPID braces are making then followed by a freaking retainer! My teeth are REALY REALLY BAD!

Very informative! I was wondering, is it true that you have a better chance of getting cavities when you wear invisalign because bacteria gets trapped between your teeth and the tray all day long? I've heard this from many people. If anyone could answer, it would be greatly appreciated! :)

For me, the tops are harder to get off than the bottoms. For the bottoms i just take my two thumbs on each side and put my nails under and pop them out.

I was not told I would have sharp ceramic protrusions on my teeth (called "attachments") that are every bit as irritating as braces would have been. Plus, the estimate of "4-6 months" turned into 17 months...another fact I didn't learn until I was already cranked back in the chair.

I told my ortho that I did NOT want perfectly straight teeth...I'm nearly 60! I just wanted to correct a simple problem. Invisalign forces you to get perfectly straight teeth, designed by computer.

@endlesucces You can, but it's not really recommended because the toothpaste will dry out and kind of corrode the retainer. Plus, if you only use toothpaste, it won't clean the retainer as well as soaking it in the denture cleaner solution will. =)

@OnlyAleksandra For me, it was $2500, but my mom just told me have really good insurane: signa. The first person we went to for an estimate charged a lot more than my current orthodontist, so go to multiples places for consultations to find the cheapest price.

$2500 (or a little lower) is the smallest figure i've ever heard. that's the same price i pay but that's because my orthodonist has the invisalign lab fees waived (which i've heard isn't very common) and other discounts. i'm willing to bet your lab fee is waived, because $2500 is a considerable portion of their costs (depends on full/standard treatment or express treatment)

i also have invisalign, and the little pressure points that they put on ur teeth they really hurt really bad when u first get them, and it is actually possible for them to pop off because it happened to me, but i think thats just because my ortho. put it on wrong, but u should be more careful when taking them out if u do have the pressure points, because some people dont, so just know that if ur tooth hurts really bad its just probaly shifting
