  • Does the adhesive from the vinyl harm the screen at all?

  • WATS ILLUSTRATOR, IS IT A GRAPHIC DESIGNING SOFTWARE..

  • @ThugSouljaLife yeah, its a vector program made by adobe. it costs around 500 bucks (unless you bootleg it).

  • I WANT TO LEARN ABOUT THE GRAPHIC DESGIN, AND THE TRANSFERABLE PAPER. ANY INFO IS APPRECIATED.

  • Thank You for sharing your video....This is awsome!! I have a Cricut Machine and SCALE going to try some Onsie T's for my niece who is coming in Jan...Thanks again....

  • yes doing the same way - even avoid the screens and put vinyl directly on the fabric. work sweet and love it.

  • where is the video that shows you

  • An old vid but have you any prints to show the end result please?

  • GREAT idea for someone like me who does screen printing as a hobby!

  • awesome idea, might be a good option for me for numbering. I spend a lot of money every month on numbering stensils. How often do you have to change your cutters blades, and whatnot?

  • That is awsome.

  • Yeah, That helped man. good advise. I also had my screen a little too low and it was getting too wet. An adjustment and your advise really makes this idea, gold!

  • Well. I tried it three times. I can only do one pass of ink on a single shirt. After that the ink gets under the vinyl between the screen and splats, making a mess. I dont know what you are doing but Its not working for me.. I used thick creamy ink. Made sure my vinyl was pressed firm to the screen. But all three times, It still got between.

  • @djpuppy28 I would suggest putting the vinyl/stencil on the BACK of the screen. Putting it on the front makes it sloppy, because the stencil is too raised for your squeegee, and it can also peel off while printing. If it's on the back, you'll definitely get more passes.

  • hello i just got a cutter plotter kit with a heat press, i do not understand how you apply the vinyl to the silkscreen? did you iron it on? or heatpress it on?

please let me know im going crazy...thanks :)

  • you know, it's thinking outside the box that bring out these simple yet ingenious ideas to light. Kudos to you my friend. I havent started screenprinting yet as I am starting out with heat transfer designs first and later will invest in this. but I always try to learn as I go so that when the time comes I am as well informed as can be to make the learning curve a little more palatable. Less errors means more success and less expenditures. grax from Puerto Rico

  • very nice tut!

  • So where is the full version please? Does it show more than this taster?

Its not on the suggested site.

  • Would you mind sending me a sample. I can PayPal you. I what to try but 300 is a lot to risk right now. The emulsion way I agree 100%. Let me know, thanks. ANDREW.

  • Amazing, isn't there anything that vinyl cutter's can't do! Very useful video, thanks.

  • so glad i came across this video it's guys like you who give the small buisness owners breaks much appreciated

  • wao cant believe ive been using emultion all these years and never thought of this!!!!! awesome!!! ok, next step by a cutter... which one do you recomend! there so many cheap ones in ebay! which one is a good brand? i want it to be at least 24 inches. please reply!!

  • you the man!!! thanks bra you saved me alot of time and money!

  • Yeah it works had a friend that wanted 12 shirts and needed them quick. Used my vinyl cutter and a clean screen and BAM!

  • What if I use photoshop brushes that are not vectors, can you still use those for the vinyl cutter? I think they are bitmap images by default?

  • Nice video but it's a shame you didn't show the actual print onto the shirt. I assume you must have taped off the rest of the screen too?

  • post it on my blog, nice video man.. thx for making great video

  • Hmm, that WOULD be faster than ironing down freezer paper and then weeding the graphic like I've been doing...DOH! I also bought a cutter from US Cutter, looks like yours is an MH series ? My US Cutter forum name is the same as this one...lol.Anyway, I'm gonna try this method, only with contact paper instead...hopefully I can find some with permanent adhesive. If you have time I posted a few of my works in the forum, if you want to see them :) Thanks for the tip ;) !!

  • what Vinyl do you use? the one i try using wouldnt work on my screen

  • @wola77

Is it re-positional or permanant ? Re-positional is more forgiving than permanent, and may be less adhesive.

  • FYI: For free open source route on software....instead of illustrator ..... check out Inkscape. Can do most everything (vector graphics) as well as illustrator. Another vinyl material option that I use in my vinyl cutter for temporary usages (like this) is simply contact paper (the shelf liner material you buy @ walmart in the kitchenwares section). My vinyl cutter handles it beautifully. Not quite sure if it has enough tack for this application... but worth a mention.

  • Good video. Thanks.

  • wow, good instructions (er). I always stick the final cut on the outside of the screen though.

  • hello!

    your very hot...

lol i first time i didnt even pay attention because u are to cute...so i had to watch it again...lol but anyway back to the topic

i just bought the YUDU but now that i just seen this viedo im soo returning it.... u should call me to tell me more about ur technics...lol

  • THANX MAN!

  • thanxs

  • Great Video, I was looking for a cheaper and faster way of silk screening, Thanks

  • i think most people who have the luxury of screen printing have access to water...

  • I'm looking to start printing my own shirts but

If I can't afford to buy an electronic vinyl cutter, could I just use contact paper/vinyl paper and an exacto knife ?? and can you use a regular destop printer and print my image on contact paper ??

  • xyron wishblade. i bought one for 150. cheap and its works great. the images you can cut are 8 by 11 and the shirts come out clean.

  • @RickRomo

Yes you can use contact paper, or eve freezer paper ( if they don't sell freezer paper where you live, there are videos on here of how to make your own). I wouldn't run contact paper through your printer though...makes a mess O_o I would try tracing your image through onto freezer paper using a light source and piece of glass with your image underneath. Then just cut out what you want from the traced image.

  • I tried to stick the vinyl to the screen (110 mesh) but its not sticking, in your video you said your used adhesive, what type of adhesive and also will I be able to wash the adhesive off the screen when I'm done? Thanks

  • @MrMikepitch

Make sure the transfer tape isn't too sticky, you may be able to lessen this by sticking it to carpet a few times. I imagine you could also use adhesive spray and wax paper to make your own transfer tape. I recommend getting the kind that can be used for temporary use.

  • Thanks for the idea, I've been wanting to do screen printing for a while now. I've been cutting vinyl for about a year now and never thought of this, can't wait to get started and try it out. going to get a screen and ink today. thanks again

  • Thanks for that, I have been cutting vinyl for 17 yrs and often wondered if it would work under the screen in reverse (which I doubted) but not on top like that, I thought the squeegy would rip it off, amazing!

  • I discovered how to do this a year ago with my roland stika. Its very beneficial and puts detail rite down to what u want! :) smart minds think a like.

  • ROCK ON! Ive been using a vinyl cutter for years, and never thought of using it for this. THANK YOU!

  • Very good idea, but too complicated for most people. The software for the plotter is often expensive too.

My wife and I discovered this by accident - works great!! Detail is amazing! Still a very good idea!

  • any1 know where i can get a screen with a vinyl design already in it????

  • good vid with some great tips, but remember this software is not easy to use and with my setup i have to use three different programs

  • What kind of screen do you use?

  • Just bought plotter for other stuff and started looking at my screens in a new light. Come on Christmas!! Thanks for the heads up.

  • thankyou for the idea. too bad i dont have a plotter!

  • Excellent tutorial video. Great tips for this home brew. Check out my videos for tutorials on screen printing and heat transferring tee shirts. Questions welcome.

  • hah thats a god dam brain wave cheers man

  • I just bought mine cutter from UScutter too is a 25'' with a stand!! that's a great idea man thanks!!

  • Awesome video and deomonstration. I like the idea, thanks for sharing!

  • Great vid, do you have one of the actual application of the paint on to the shirt?

  • Thanks for the idea, you've just saved me alot of headache.
