@jorrttiemer dont need one when you have an Optima battery. i could run one speaker all night at a bonfire and still be able to start up my truck without hesitation. and i i ran a 1000w QSC k12. (damn overpriced speaker) from 12 til 6am. and these g2's are only like 160watts
@jorrttiemer if you need bass then with any loudspeaker system you need a sub. usually the bigger the woofer the bigger the bass. get nothing lower than a 15". If you can afford the subwoofer, then get one. the subwoofer is what makes the difference in your system. ebay sells a cheap one for like $289-399 price range for a sub(SA Brand). not bad if your on budget and need lower end sound.
@flipprincess14 Well, I agree about the part of the bigger the bass, the better the low. But i sertanly have seen loudspreaker systems with an really nice bass in it, withous sub. For example the 4AC FCS-115. A good friend of my owns those, and also uses it for it's drive in. He never needs to have an sub, and you dont get mad neighbours becouse the bass is not that loud. I know you can set the settings in the sub so your neighbours wont get mad, but it's just an example.
I hope you brought your starting cables with you...
