Is it pathetic/obsessive that I can differentiate between the three having seen the 2004 and 1990 all the way through, but only clips of the 1989 version?
This song is so awesome i love it the three phantom of the opera i like the this phantom the one thats wearing the whole mask the white one that covers his whole face well not the one who's wearing the half face i meant the one thats wearing the whole face. i love it but please don't remove it please i love these movies and this song please don't remove i love to watch this and listen to it.
That clip at 2:28 where two people are kissing... what is that from? I swear it isn't in any of the movies... It looks like 1989 Christine but she and Robert Englund Erik never kiss in the movie.... What is it? It's driving me crazy!
Really? I was wondering about that clip too cuz I also didn't remember that happening. Oh well, guess I'm going to have to watch it again, how unfortunate ;-) *cries of sadness*
Nice song! And some yummy shots from the movies, too. I thought the Charles Dance version had it's weaknesses (like logic holes you could herd elephants through) but Charles Dance had a glorious charisma in the movie.
True. [plus he killed Bambi--the scene where he pushed over the random stuffed deer after Christine fainting]. Seriously though, you know his eyes, nose (if he has one), and mouth are all in their proper positions--besides that his deformity had to be limited to skin issues. Anyway, Charles Dance was the adorable phantom (the fandom definitely needed one of those). The only phantom movie without loopholes would be that of Susan Kay's novel "Phantom"--were it to ever be made into a movie *prays*.
Let me just get out the candles, colored chalk and cloned bambi for a nice sacrifice and I'll join into the prayer. I was sooo hoping for that when a new Phantom movie was announcend, and then it was manacled to the ALW version. Now that's burned ground for at least a decade.
And was there ever a really, really disfigured Phantom on screen? I want to see one that makes me stop breathing and claw my fingernails into the theater seat or the arm of some poor date.
*gathers around fire pit obligingly* Good idea. Now all we need is a giant chocolate Erik to burn in the fire *looks in closet* He's got to be around here somewhere...
AND YES! Just once, I want a man so extraordinarily deformed...that every Phan alive will have to give a moment to concede "Hmm...I can see why Christine would have some issues"--we would then feel promptly guilty, and return to our Christine bashing "Well...it's not THAT bad", and all the fangirls who only know Erik as "Phantom",or angel of music, would promptly run away screaming. *laughs gleefully*
Chocolate burns really messy. I vote we burn a straw effigy of the guy who directed the Butler version (if for nothing else then for the lack of wet shirts in the final scene with 2 athletic men fighting up to their hips in water!), cook some coffee over the glowing embers and nibble a little bit on Erik.
*claps* Brilliant idea. And quite rightly so--that was an opportunity that should never have been missed)--though at the very least they didn't miss the opportunity for an overly absurd version of Gay chicken during said scene...and Gerard Erik decked out in a half open shirt. Sqwee.
2004 was my intro to Phantom and will always be my personal fave but after that is definitely Charles Dance's portrayl. This is a great vid (oh and you picked the perfect song!)
Yeah, the 1990 miniseries is definitely one of my favorites. It just kills me that I haven't been able to get it in its entirety. I had a plan to do more compilation videos like this, but I need to get the entire miniseries first.
For some reaosn I thought this was cute when I know it wasnt supposed to be cute lol I love all those versions^_^All though the Robert englund verrsion scares me a bit;P Great video!
Although, I just did a quick count of how many clips I used per movie, and I did around 28 for both the 1990 and 1989 versions, while only doing about 23 for the 2004 version.
Hmm, I tried my best to keep them even (I gave each movie a chorus part all their own, and then followed a pattern of using each movie in the in-between parts), but I guess it still came off being askew.

A very nice video, and coincidentally, it uses the three Phantom movies that I've seen at this point. :)

It is them. They kissed after Christine was returned to the future. ^.^

Thanks (this is Mergirl1 btw, using my new account). Charles Dance is simply the most adorable Erik of all. You just want to hug him. ^_^

I really liked it. I must say that the 1990 version is warming up to me alot. ^^ Though, the englund one kinda scares me...Oo...
