Datejusts are so F-ing plain and 70's looking for the amount of money one pays, at least they have a great second hand movement and are reliable as all hell. Plus the resale value is phenominal. Sure is a lot of money for that kind of watch though.

Well, it´s obviously a good watch.......but it´s not safe to wear such an expensive watch in certain areas of large cities. I know a guy who was attacked with a machete in Caracas, Venezuela, and returned to the US without his precious Submariner...he not only lost his watch, but also his hand.

cheaper battery/digital watches are even more accurate then Rolex. But if you put a CASIO and a Rolex in your drawer for ten years, the rolex still can function and become more value. For CASIO, the battery/electronic parts will melt and damage. I do not like to wear jewellery or branded clothing, I only need a presentable watch for daily use and give to my children in future. And most important thing is that " TIME IS TOO PRECIOUS TO BE MEASURE BY A CHEAP WATCH "
not a lot of people are attracted to gold bars, and gold bars maybe wouldn't adjust value as effectively then a watch. Because gold bars are just plain gold..
I know certain watches still have values after a certain period of time but comparing it with gold bars is definitely something new to think about. I guess I better start saving for a Rolex :-)

Read the user manual, go back to the shop and ask. Different watch have different way to adjust the minute/hour hand.

Well, it´s obviously a good watch.......but it´s not safe to wear such an expensive watch in certain areas of large cities. I know a guy who was attacked with a machete in Caracas, Venezuela, and returned to the US without his precious Submariner...he not only lost his watch, but also his hand.

I had the same watch in 1974 and was snatched in Bronx. I bought for my 50th birthday the same watch in 18K gold Datejust....and you can view it by watching my vide NIDES LOBSTER KONG

cheaper battery/digital watches are even more accurate then Rolex. But if you put a CASIO and a Rolex in your drawer for ten years, the rolex still can function and become more value. For CASIO, the battery/electronic parts will melt and damage. I do not like to wear jewellery or branded clothing, I only need a presentable watch for daily use and give to my children in future. And most important thing is that " TIME IS TOO PRECIOUS TO BE MEASURE BY A CHEAP WATCH "

not a lot of people are attracted to gold bars, and gold bars maybe wouldn't adjust value as effectively then a watch. Because gold bars are just plain gold..

I know certain watches still have values after a certain period of time but comparing it with gold bars is definitely something new to think about. I guess I better start saving for a Rolex :-)
