  • So how come trains can smoke but passengers can't?

  • Very nice

  • the train jumps away from the platform at 0:15 at 70 mph. thats scary!!!!!!

  • it not so bad when it gets closer

  • why do some carriages have no freights on them, has the freights been removed during one leg of the journey or didn't remove that carriage?

  • @GowieLowie They run trains with a set amount of flat wagons, whether they are load, or not they still run, and also its often them running the wagons back to base.

  • @bennymilk i see thank you

  • You sir have obviously havent seen an Alco :D

  • Freightliner? Should be CLAGliner!

  • So brits have steam engine that looks and sounds just like diesel engine? That is so cool.

  • huh... gives new meaning to the word "hellfire"

  • Ah, a dying EMD 645. Not very spectacular when they run right, but when they're wrong....

  • 66535 must liek cigaretts

  • i want to be a 37, i want to be a 37, just watch me :o)

  • nice class 66 smoking like hell

  • The turbocharger's going south . Eh if the Carbon Dioxide is killing the Earth and the Global Warming is melting it , that means :The World is in the toilet . I love vids with bad turbos . Have a nice day and good capture :)

  • and these are supposed to be low emission?

  • steam is more eco friendly hands down.

  • @GWR4079 are you mad?

  • @Sephy69 well steam is only produces water and ash co2 and sulfer unlike diesels what give out co2 carbon monoxid unburnt oil particals all kinds of crap steamtrains look dirty but they are more cleaner than you think

  • @GWR4079 i see your point! you deffo learn something new everyday. i guess diesels are more efficent but not as clean. thanks!

  • @GWR4079 Bituminous coal contains lots of heavy oils. Now what do you think you get as by-products of crudely controlled burning of that?

Then, when you consider that a steamer needs at least 3 times the fuel input for a given amount of work output, guess which produces the crap.

Then toss in the amount of effluent from keeping a steamer's fire going between runs, and the amount of lubricant that's used "total loss."

  • @woodscritter 1. steam engines look elegant sound amazing and become part of the countryside

2.they only give off mostly carbondioxide carbonmonoxide and sulfer and water and soot and ash

    3. smells great you might need lots of lube but its worth it

  • @Sephy69 kinda

  • @GWR4079 Not really... if you do the math, a steam engine is by far less efficient, and thus pollutes much more to do the same job.

  • @GWR4079 Apart from the Tons of coal it gets through...

  • @ididi9 lol what coal gives off its resycled by the eco system unlike diesel it stays ther for years without dicomposing

  • @GWR4079 Yes I know its more eco friendly but you still need mine it :D

  • @ididi9 you neeed to drill for oil lol

  • @GWR4079 Im not saying diesel is eco friendly just steam isnt :D

  • @ididi9 how steam gives off Co2 and carbon monoxide sulfer and ash and water diesel gives off many oils and heavy solids and carbon

  • @GWR4079 Im not saying that diessel is more eco friendly, Im just saying that steam altough its more eco friendly its still not eco friendly

  • Strange to see one of those smoking so much.

  • fantastic

  • Bring back the English Electric machines

  • Come on get em scrapped, there clearly not going to stand the test of time!

  • Nothing is... Just to put it simply.

  • thats what we call a segal killer

  • so much for modern environmentally friendly loco's

  • were does the electric come from koseiko2008 certainly aint coming from wind farm it is coming from either oil,gas or coal only reason i know that is coz my mate works for the power companies :)

  • Was talkin to a driver for the blue team the other day and he said the 66's are going through turbo's like no body's business, they are keeping that one quiet arnt they, not such a reliable motor after all !!!!

  • I thought they were Eco friendly!!!

  • strange to se a 66 claging that much, prehaps the turbo was on itw way out.

  • take it that aint a low emission one. they are better like that with all the smoke :P

  • smokey

  • GO ELECTRIC!

  • Another EMD needs an air box job...

  • I feel the gentleman on the right hand side of the shot should have provided some kind of commentary for the clip, as he's wearing a suit and looks although he's enjoying being on film. Plus he looks a bit trainish.

  • Um...that's the lady who runs the ticket office kindly coming to tell us that she was finishing and that the toilets would then be locked...that's service for you!

  • It certainly is, but I still feel he could've given a more productive input to the shoot.

  • WOW GRATE VID

  • It may be sick with all that clag but it hasn`t slowed it down! Saw 66104 last week on an intermodal with plenty thick black clag but didn`t have my friggin camera!

  • you know, mtu's are getting there now especially the older ones in fgw hst's

  • What does that have to do with this?

It doesn't have an MTU engine, it has a General Motors Engine.

  • i was just saying

  • no, but he was talking about clag and that is inclusive in this video

  • I did'nt know a class 66 was able to clagg like that, that's awesome!

  • Don't let the environmentalists see that.

  • "COUGH"COUGH"

    Blimey that was smokey !

    Good video :)

  • That is indeed rather good!

Is it just me, or is there a distinct lack of engine noise?

  • Yes, pretty much all you can hear is the hum of the rails...

  • wow thats a sick sixty six lol

  • Saw the same loco on the Ellesmere Port-Fiddlers coal and the Penmaenmawr-Crewe stone recently and its got worse! Looks friggin impresive though!!!!!

  • Saying that, 66s (specially EWS ones, and early Freightliner ones) are really getting shagged. This proving it. Anyone think a 66 could one day be the new 37427/410 clag wise?

  • hehe early GBRf are also getting there

  • They won`t last that long!

  • They are not class 37. It is a more economical locomotive 3000 hp most tested engines of GE electric.

  • They are so much fucking fsater and dangerous than they look from the front

  • FUCKIN HELL IS IT ME or is that 66 lol now that is the claggy ist 66 i ever seen

  • That's bloody impressive for a 66!!

  • The original, before Youtube fuzzed it, was even better!
