Chris unfortunately chooses to tell Tony, so they had her killed. Chris was still alive at this point, he dies nearly a whole season later, in this episode he had stormed out for the night after Adriana confessed, so Tony and Sil made up a lie about Chris being in an accident to get Adriana to go with them.

Soon as she gets in the woods and he stops...she knows its all over and starts panicking, I think most people would be the same in that situation. She deserved more than to be buried in some gray, dark woods.

One of the most brutal scenes in the entirety of the Sopranos. It's particularly horrible because Chris could have killed her earlier on in this episode, and almost did- but didn't. In any other TV show, that would have meant she was sure to live. But not in the Sopranos.

But while he's at a gas station, he notices a poor man getting into a beat up car & becomes both scared & disgusted.....scared that he could end up poor should he go into witness protection & disgusted because he realizes that he would be betraying his friends & violating the oath he took when he got made.

Tony calls Adriana, and tell her that Chris tried to commit suicide and that Silvio is going to pick her up and take her to the hospital to see him. While on the way, Adriana dreams about running away while Silvio drives past the forrest. When Silvio drives into the middle of nowhere onto a dirt path, she realizes that she has been set up and tries to run, but Silvio guns her down.

All things considered, I felt really sorry for Adriana. She was trying to do the right thing and did all she could to not betray Chris, and she gets killed over it.. This scene is a strong reminder that it is probably not wise to deal with people like Tony & Co. in real life.

When Silvio drives into the middle of nowhere onto a dirt path, she realizes that she has been set up and tries to run, but Silvio guns her down.

As much as i wil always be a big fan of the 'Sopranos' tv show...scenes like this go to show (as an earlier poster put it best) what "Slime' and scumbags these guys really are.They sociopathic murderers who will as soon shoot u in the head as tell you jokes at the poker table. @oloompop Just because a person feels love doesn't mean they can't be a sociopath, if anything it can make it worse. After all, he killed Ralph over the POSSIBILITY that Ralph killed a horse (and based on his dream later, it seems deep down he knows Ralph probably didn't do it). His love for animals had been one of the good qualities Tony had, but not so much after that incident.

She was an unwilling tool of the FBI all along; if she was smart (which she wasn't), she could have gone to Tony Soprano and told him everything, and he might have been able to use her against the FBI by feeding them false information.
But to order a hit on your own wife.... that's low.
