  • i hope you threw some 60 rock jocks under it, 44s aint cheap

  • whoa.. wait a sec is that a lifted pinto on the back ground

  • @rednexinc1979 haha!

  • 44 are strong but not much as you would think and with that much hps in that stick mud with some wide rubbers

  • had a 10 bolt under my chevy with 40s.. broke an axle twice and then came the dana 60 ;)

  • i can break it faster than that

  • OOPS!

  • Bad Jeep.

  • What part broke exactly?

  • for safty i would go with a dana 70 from a dodge

  • @minihorserodeo good but that would be too heavy and deffeat the purpose of being light. unless he dont care about weight that is

  • Wow never run anything bigger then 35 maybe 37 on dana 44s.... Go with a dana 60 ir if ur really crazy rockwells :p

  • @4X4punisher I know a guy that runs 39s with Dana 44s, but it's not some high horsepower machine either... about 250hp... he has tootsie rolled a few driveshafts though lol.

But i agree with you, with these rigs, Dana 60 would be the way to go.

  • Time to Drive like you have a 44 up there lol

  • why would u run a 44 with a rig like that. Dana 60 dude, fuck

  • @cheesebandit Money dumn ass. Mud trucks are always work in progress and when you think your done it breaks again.

  • @hpjunky70 Yeah, clearly the engine was a low-cost swap meet find as well...

  • @cheesebandit There's nothing wrong with a 44.

  • @cheesebandit keepin it light. or tryin to

  • im dont know much bout off-road stuff but wats a dana 44

  • @hmuvee It is an axle.

  • time for some rockwells!!

  • thats an awesome jeep, i wonder whats making all that power?

  • Latest News : Some Mud has been reported on the Moon, stay alert

  • Dana 60 at least dude! I have rebuilt Dana 40s and 60s! You should have put a 60 in that thing as soon as you put those huge tires on it!

  • that was sick!!! but i have to say i sincerely regret your abnormal misfortune and conclusion of your dana44 (i have one myself) within the period of 22 seconds. May it rest in peace.

btw..are those 252 sasquatch all terrain rubbers?

  • Dude, you need something bigger than even a dana 60 for that kind of setup ! :)

  • shit is awesome man

  • 44s were designed for 6 cylinder motor power and torque. Not a fire breathing V8.

  • danggg, what are u running in that for a motor?

  • holy fuck

  • Army surplus. Duece and a half axles. Unbreakable

  • @lucoff why stop with the axles? Just get a whole damn M-35. That's a MAN's truck!

  • @redreaper2020 hahahaha true story. taking the axles off that thing would be a bitch. Does Napa carry M-35 parts??

  • Rockwell axles. Problem solved. :P

  • now THAT is power

  • my full size long bed chevy had a d44 up front.

i swapped d60 front and rear, driveshafts, joints etc.

its a 1 ton now but before i swapped i had an 8" superlift kit, 40" swampers, 383, th400 and np205, factory front d44 with richmond 4.56 and a detroit locker.

i abused the shit out of it, i mudded and jumped with it.

broke windows, bounced all 3 of the mirrors off, cracked radiators, broke shocks, bent drive shafts, dented diff covers and oil pan etc.

but the front end never broke on me.

  • @tapper45 Probably 100% true. Some guys get away with murder, and others (like me) kill the shit out of our trucks every time we try anything that isn't "recommended" I have a 73 F250 with the HD44 and I killed it with some 37" Parnelli Jones Dirt Grips in a deep soup mud pit. I was being pulled out (lack of powa from a wheezy 360) and all it took was a bit of right steering wheel and BANG. No mo front go. Now I have D60 in it and have had 0 breakage or problems. Some people get away with it.

  • i'am getting a jeep after 2 years my dad and i are going to make a powerful chevy engine at least 400hp :)

  • @Stebbzi97 use some bigger axles then this guy hahaha

  • @CheesenCrackers69 atleast a dana 60 right??

  • @Stebbzi97 yea, and it'll have be built strong if you intend to be like the guy in the video

  • or a corporate 14 bolt

  • to bad it was just your front drive shaft there killer mudder guy!lol!

  • my dana 30 could handle that! .....hahahah

  • hmmm your pry making around 450 hp big tires lotsa gear sorry man dana 44s just dont hold up you need a dana 60 or rockwells

  • hammering like that wont help you in the buddy

  • lol i had that happen with a dana 35, in a stock xj

  • should have used a 60

  • @MustangJeeps I AGREE!!!!!

  • smoooooth

  • 44's stock use only? 31's or 33's max? are you people fuckin high?

  • lol I kno SOOO many people that run 35s and 37s on a 44 with LOCKERS "tj / rubicon"

Hell i run 33/12.50 claws on my D30! in my xj, and RARELY have to change shafts

  • @badmunkie513 dana 30s and 35s in xjs can handle 33s for the occasional wheeler and trail junky who sees a few mud holes ;)

  • I see rocks alotttttt, and mud about every other time,

Ive got D44's from a totaled rubi, Just havent had the motavition to swap them in yet, I'mm wait till my D30 is useless, like a bent tube or something, lmao

  • @badmunkie513 make sure u get it on vid. and yeah i agree. 30 and 35s are useless for crawling

  • @badmunkie513 well I run 38's and never have broke an axel or jiont with my 30 or 35. I wheel the shit out of it.

  • @puddlejumper98 i dont see how thats possible, With 35s I change at LEAST one joint / axle per day when I'm wheelin

  • Dana 44's are good for about 31's 33's at max. And if you're gonna floor it like that, you need Dana 60's or better with those tires.

  • @rocker700 What??? You really need to learn a thing or two. Im rocking 35x12.5x15's on my jeep with stock d35 and no problems until I get stupid. A d60 not gonna help much when over torqued or tired shafts give out.

  • Rockwell>All

  • yall trying to tear dat shit up huh

  • haha bet your rockin 60s now

  • need a dana 60

  • agreed dana 44's are for stock use only.

  • /watch?v=Y0l2kLhkydg

  • It did'nt break

  • @peg12121212 hahaha thats exactly what i was thinkin. This beast is too heavily modified for just a 44! He mightve purposely done this for shits n giggles!

  • haha maybe front and rear chromoly dana 60's now?

  • @peg12121212

    Or..........about 22 seconds.;-)

  • yea i would say that was junk

  • sounds great!!

  • You get a 60?

  • wow are those 40"s on a 44? rediculous. 60 it gear it lock it and call it a day..

  • that thing sounds badass!!

  • put some rockwells on that bitch!!!!

  • damn dude.. thats a rough lookin pit

  • I had dana 44's in my 79 cherokee chief,44's aren't bad but man you need something bigger if you are gonna pound though mud.

  • i've for a 00 F250 on 40s. stock gears willing bring u down to 2:70 gears.......BUUUUUUUUT all parts fall apart...especially if they're nigger-rigged in the install

  • i vote 9 inch ford

  • @pacman552sd1 Good choice, except I think broke the front...

  • You can run a 9" in the front with 60 shafts, rock crawlers do it :D

  • @07Deadsoul Learn something new every day.

  • Rich I remember that day....it was a good bog, at least I had my 6x6 ready to pull you out

  • with tires that big and a motor sounding like that u need atleast a dana 60

  • 9 inch ford

  • solid axle ftw

  • wow that is awsome sounding for a jeep

  • too much horsepower for the gears lol

  • If you went to a autowrecker and looked for an OLD Ford solid axle from an old F150, it wouldn't be any worse than fixed the flawed IFS. All you need to do is make sure the gear ratios match and weld up the spring holders

  • Holy shit that thing sounds sweet

  • thing sounds sweet ha

  • need some rockwell 2 1/2s

  • Hey man don't even bother with that ttb go straight axle!

  • dude forget a 44. u need a Dana 60.

  • or rockwells lol

  • Good thing about 4x4... you get stuck where no one get help you out... ;-)

  • Time for a D60? Guessing it broke the U joint betweent the inner & outter shafts?

D44+large tires+V8=breakage nomatter how you build it...unless you only build a mall crawler.

We broke the D44 in our blazer (72 so no 10B yet) 3 times the u joint, & the ball joints 1 time (in middle of nowhere!) with 38 boggers, now we swapped to Dana70's, & don't break anything.

  • Why not run smaller, narrower tires and some good chains?

  • I guess you'll have to buy some kind of extra high duty custom axle.

  • nice bro

  • naa, it isnt broken, ITS A JEEP, put it in reverse, youl be fine. only in a jeep

  • at the least 40's....

  • You should know better than to run a d44 with tires that size. Id guess 37" ish?

  • and where did it break?

  • what size tires? 33's?

  • nah man those are at least 37

  • well atleast it went out in style, nice lil vid

  • no way!

  • irrigardless of all the previous arguments here over which setup is betteer and why this broke, I look at it from this point of view.

250,000 dollar monster trucks with a stronger drivetrain any of us will ever see in our trucks, snap axles and parts all the time.... so its gonna happen.

And besides, sometimes breaking is half the fun, leads to continuing with the project to make it stronger and better then before.

All in all though, cool vid. I liked it.

  • No, you don't need a blazer. If they broke the dana then it was the weakest part. Either choose something stronger or change the week point so when it does break its the part you would rather replace. Every car and every drive line has a weak part that is going to be the first to break. Nice video though I don't care about the specifics of all the other crap people are talking, I enjoyed watching it.

  • the pencil axles in jeeps suck k5 blazer will kill any jeep in the mud all you need is boggers and lockers

  • Everything matters and just because you throw boggers and lockers on a car doesn't make it go through mud. The whole point to my comment if you didn't understand it was about the weakest point in a drive line is going to break and there is always a weak point in every single car including your K5 Blazer.

  • yeah brother

  • ya if u wana buy a peice of shit that will keep braking on you

  • Ok honestly im all for blazers and i love mine but getting a blazer isnt gonna solve anything, blazers have GM 10 bolts under them which are basicaly d44 without flattop knuckles and they might be alittle bit weaker it all depends on how u look at it. so basicaly id take a d44 over a 10 bolt any day

  • definitely would go with 60's next time! lol sweet CJ

  • what size tires are those? they look a little oversized for a 44 anyways lol.

  • haha owned @ LetsWangChung

  • Shitty commenter.

  • haha look at this guys videos. He has toyotas and fords with no real axles. Just gay IFS. Do you even know what a Dana 44 is? Listen to that engine(better than yours) look at those tires(bigger than yours) and look at that terrain that you could never get through. This guy broke his axle bc he was pushing the limits of his vehicle. and that is what it is about. Keep talking without showing us anything better than what you trash talk.

  • haha you are pretty good at defining hypocrite. Every Jeep since the CJs have come with Danas. I have a CJ7 with dana 35 and 30. all wranglers have the same Danas. Rubicons have Dana 44s. All from the factory. And why are you talking about Dana lockers? They are Dana axles. You are taking this real seriously and making a fool out of yourself. And bro, if you start trash talking, you gotta get ready for it to get thrown back at you. and do us a favor and get an education.

  • Comment removed

  • That has to bee one of the sickest jeeps i have ever seen.. what kind of motor did you put in.. its def a v8 and from the sound (and breaking a dana) it has to be 600hp +

  • uh ive seen 44 take way more abuse than that musta hada lotta wear

  • Your tires are way too big, all you're doing is making your gas mileage terrible.

  • maybe because thats his offroad ONLY rig? Pfft. Stupid Mall Crawlers.

  • its obviously just a mudder its not a daily driver you dumbfuck

  • You know I have a 1972 Ford Bronco with 33's that does just fine.

  • 33s are too small for muddin buddy...unless your going through little muddy puddles of water

  • Cool =]

  • just thinking but the tires mite be a little to big for a 44 hahaha

  • that wuz sooo sick!!

  • Are you high? Chryslers break all the good God damned time.

  • for the last time????really?

    tough rig!

  • Sounds so weak lol jk that sounded amazing great vid though

  • It was a planted video from Toyota. They tried to break it but couldn't so they pretended it broke lol

  • that sucks so bad... time for a new one bro haha

  • THAT JEEP LOOKS HARD TOO MUCH FOR THE 44

  • time for an upgrade lol

  • like watchin a train wreck lol suuuuch a sik jeep though i could only wish to own somthin that tricked out

  • too much for that dana 44. 44's arent heavy duty axles. theyre fine for moderate power applications but ur jeeps got to much for it ha ha. id recommend a D60 or currie 9inch

  • check out the jeep on my page

  • u need a stonger axle to handle all that power brother go with the 60!!!

  • dont rev it so high next time, them little buggys cant handle it lol

  • why you say breakin g for the last time did you change the diff and if so what di you go to daina 60 etc?

  • jeeps thould always have 44s

  • bad ass machine but just got stuck

  • that thing has got some balls

  • 44 in 22. Does that now make it an 11?

  • You broke that 44 as soon as you put those tires on it ...never mind the small block v-8 and lockers ...You want to play big like a big dawg ,but you got puppy axles ...get a 60/14 bolt combo and 35 outers for the 60 and maybe alloy shafts ,and toss the 44 .

  • Entertainment right here! Keep going!

  • yes yes

  • lol i agree, Atrixium knows his stuff :D

  • Not really, but he did ask me to clarify. While not "fuckin english class" it does appear to be the regular type.

  • not installed and put together properly

  • I know that feeling.. just snapped my 2nd axle in less than a year!..

  • What were you drivin? if i may ask

  • 98 Sahara, D35 w/ Det. locker

  • Valiant attempt i must say :D

  • Your only running 44's? man thats killer,

  • I wish the video was longer. I could not tell what let go if anything.

  • Um, you must be related to Einstein. You can install a detroit locker in a dana 44 axle. A locker and an axle are two seperate things, genius. And having 4 wheel drive does not necessitate having torque. Ever hear of a Samuria or a Kia Soortage? Asshat.

  • All I can say is wow...
