my mom is from the philippines, but she didn't teach me how to speak the language, so i'm trying to teach myself. (it's not really working) any help would be appreciated!!! Salamat!
Gusto mo mag-aral Tagalog sa akin(Iwasto mo ang mga mali sa pangungusap). I want to learn Tagalog. Ituro mo sa akin ang Tagalog. Ako si Forrest Yao sa Taiwan, holding an dictionary and looking for a penpal.
where did you get the book? i talk to my 34-month old daughter in filipino. she understands me but replies in english (we're in the UK). i'd like to start teaching her how to read in filipino first (i think it's easier because our language is phonetic, ie, you say it as you read it or something like that).
I had my parents send it to me from the Philippines. I also made my own flashcards (see my other video), used the back of a big old calendar in place of a blackboard and wrote down syllables (a-e-i-o-u, ba-be-bi-bo-bu, etc.) in a journal to make our own book.
He was able to read English very easily by 3 years old (also in my other videos) after learning Pilipino.
i really miss the day when i was in grade 1...my dad taught how to read pilipino..i used to read daga "ATE"..lolz...but its true,,it's fun to teach kids how to read..
I am a USA born filipino and really regret that my parents never made me speak tagalog at home. I can understand what my relatives say most of the time, but I feel really awkward when I try to talk to people in my broken tagalog.
I actually liked that the audio was out of sync because it let me try pronouncing stuff before he did.
Cool! Actually, sayang I wish Ma taught me like this when I was young but she was always busy o naantok dahil nagtatrabaho sila seven days. Typical Filipino life story: Masyadong mahirap sa buhay! I'm half-pinoy half-black but I managed to learn it myself (even though my grammar sucks) and I speak Tagalog and Bisaya with my Ma n relatives. I know people who have both Pinoy parents but have no interest in learning kasi akala nila jologs daw ang wikang Tagalog! tsk tsk tsk!
My niece is Ilocano/Tagalog/English. We didnt actually teach her English. She learns it on TV watching PBS Channel. We speak Ilocano at home and he was able to understand then she started speaking Ilocano. At 6 she had Tagalog speaking friend (bagong salta sa US) and she learned Tagalog when they both watch Pinoy GMA/TFC and Filipino DVD movies. Home=Ilocano, school=English, friend=Tagalog.
hi Viv, thank you for d video re Tagalog, our national dialect . . may not be complete but, here's a link to my multiply page featuring where Tagalog came from, which I copied at d National Museum, at d rim of an old jar. A must knowledge for all Pinoys, I think. Click on my UTube username, top left to view my recent video uploads, one is about the Filipino street children. Pls get to Multiply and just add - glenlorn dot multiply plus photos/album/11. Urls not allowed in this box kasi. Tnx.
