i started crying when i saw this guys videos it reminds when i lived here. the happiness and peace when you drove through charlotte. nothing is better your home. GO CHARLLOTTE WILDCATS WOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Cptahabify Charlotte definitely has a booming Uptown with the new office and residential towers, arts facilities, museums, sports facilities, and future parks that have been built/proposed in the last decade. Compared to where I live, Charlotte is a godsend to those of us who crave an energetic and lively nightlife scene. :-)
@Cptahabify Charlotte has a massive Uptown compared to anything else in the South. It's the fourth largest city on the East Coast...It's bigger than Atlanta now. Bigger than Washington, DC, Boston. It is a large uptown.
@Jitters10 That's because Charlotte has more land within its municipal boundaries than those cities. Charlotte is a significantly smaller metro than Atlanta, DC, and Boston. However, it packs quite a punch for its size. I miss living there.
@mariusbleek Indeed. I love the architecture of it! Just the perfect combination of old, classic looks with modern flare. The art deco designs on BOA's neighbor (the Hearst Tower) also make it one of the most beautiful towers in the US.
I couldn't resist the Hearst Tower's architecture. It's lobby was amazing enough to make me say wow. I didn't take pictures of it when I went inside to avoid getting thrown out for doing so.
Charlotte, what a wonderful and interesting city. I explored the whole city when I went there and Charlotte has very unique and spectacular high-rises, many of them which I went inside to look at the architecture, and some of them I even rode the elevators. The hotels are amazing, especially the Westin. Beautiful! I explored the Aloft hotel which has amazing architecture. The elevators have special effects on the floors!!!
@escalatorgeek881 hmm...is that so? I didn't know that about the Aloft hotel. I like the lighting effects they used on the sides of the building, but they cheaped out on the cladding materials IMO. I hear the Westin is a great hotel, but I haven't ever been in it. Thanks for watching!
The Westin Charlotte is the tallest hotel in the Carolina's at 25 floors, although some hotels in Myrtle Beach have from 26 - 30 floors. It is the only building in the Southeast outside of Atlanta that was designed by either John Portman himself or by his company. As I saw, he designs spectacular and unique buildings. His company is, I think, housed in the SunTrust Plaza in Atlanta, which John Portman designed.

@Cptahabify How exactly does it make it "appear" that uptown is large? The video simply shot footage of uptown, exactly the way it is in real life.

The bank of america building is probably the most aesthetically pleasing building in the US.
