I was 8 years old when this happened. And I remember it clear as day. I have lived in Mexico since I was five and it's my country too, even if I wan't born in it. I remember everything and I sympathize with you with this trauma.
I was about a month when this happened, my mom is 4rm Zacatecas, Mexico. and I am half-Mexican. . .it was terrible what happened 2 la ciudad de mexico.
Mr. Carlos! what a chilling peice. I honestly have to admit I knew very little of this tragedy. Ironicaly, both my parents are from Mexico City and where residing in Canada at the time and have very seldome ever mentioned this event. This was eye opening
the corney writing and music...really? Did you really have to put that in to set the mood? Not like the images are bad enough you put in that horrendous music which is quite possibly worse then that earthquake.
I get serious headaches when they happen. alot of people say this is genetic when two people in the same family share the same thing. we are kindred spirits like that. dream in peace xoxo Starre36
my first visit to mexico city was a year later in 1986 and i could still see the cracks in buildings and streets i wasin puerto vallarta on 10/09/1995 when we had our 7.6 for about 38 secondes it was really bad.
wow i have never seen anything or heard of anything after i lived it! i was 4 when it happen i was with my dad and he was taking me to preschool in the car when we felt it. and my mother was with my older brother she was taking him to school, as they were walking out of the exit of the subway thats when they felt the earthquake. my family and i were ok....... the only things i remember was people screaming loud noses coming from the buildings and my dad pulling over and caring me out of the car
i was born that day at 9am, in jalisco and i was the first born so my mom had never had felt labor pains and she said that she thought that's how if felt to have a baby...like the world was falling, she said it was terrible treatment because the doctors and nurses were busy with injured people.
@daysim85 - you were born on that day? SO WAS I! But, I was so sick afterwards that my heart died and it was fixed and then I started living. I had close-heart surgery. its funny how your mom felt pain, I guess I did too when I was born because on my grand mother's side of the family, she's psychic. I still have dreams and visions about earthquakes in the future to come. dream in peace o' kindred birthday spirit! peace xoxo Starre36
I remember every single thing in here, and when i see ppl complaining why donations are not being displayed in Mexicali, i feel like showing them some videos of the true chaos generated by delivering without the propper organization. even fights for them..
Nací en Chile en 1980. He vivido dos megaterremotos.
To those correcting other's publicly...please make sure you know what you're talking about first and "know" how to spell. I lived through this and it is not a laughing matter, I actually liked the video...the color was "yellow" (taxis, etc) the buses were light brown and dark brown. The change came after, like a rebirth & more conscientious approach by painting the taxis green (eco-friendly). It was no fun, being uncommunicated with family or peers or bathing only 1time a week to conserve water.
its crazy.. my mother was there when that happened. she was very lucky. she had said she was about to go home from work..but some lady had asked her to wait for her that they will go home together... turns out the the building that she lived in had fallen down..if it wasn't for that lady who knows what would of happened to my mom...
Pinche perro
This is one of the most tragic events in our country; i wasn´t born on that day, but my mother saved a building, it's on Juarez avenue in front of the Hemiciclo a Juárez, I'm so proud of her, for my city and specially for me she is a hero!!! She died in Marc.
This was a very beautiful video as you took the fear of many and dedicated the thankfulness of being alive.
Great video. It really reflects how tragic was that earthquake here in Mexico City. Even as a kid I could see how much people suffered during that time. I was fortunate as well but many hundreds of thousands were not.
