how many sharpenings until the heal on the figure skate is gone? Not one figure skater would return for a second sharpening however they may return to try and get you to replace their blade. man still better than machine!

@ahans34 The grinding wheel is lowered so that the heel of the figure skate touches it only at the very top and in the middle . The spring loaded wheel then follows the radius of the blade naturaly and with even pressure throughout the blade preserving the shape. This prevents heel wear as commonly seen by many hand sharpeners who cannot deliver a total even pressure throughout the sharpening process.
