  • i think he is a drum player

  • The man is so good, He has NO NEED for toms!!!

  • actually he is not playing anything impressive... if you really pay attention to what he is doing, its simple. and yes, I could do it... most good drummers could. its the twirling sticks that tend to impress people who dont know any better.

  • @emilshere please do share

  • @emilshere

The point is, he can play it WHILE doing the twirling sticks. That means it's trivially easy for him to play otherwise. This isn't meant to be a musically impressive solo, he has others for that

  • Goddamn fireworks. Belongs to planet earth's finest.

  • where are toms

  • Actually he didn't play drums in Watchtower - you are probably thinking of his brother Ron Jarzombek who plays guitar in that band.

  • What happened to the toms?

  • diossssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss que locko el mejor baterista brutalllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • ahm..someone forgot to built him the whole drumset obviously..

  • Doesn't compare to his usual playing but cool to watch.

  • This man speaks the truth. /\

  • He is something more than a great drummer.but this solo means nothing to me..this is just a boring use of "special effects"...

  • Very Talented!

  • this is so sick.awesome.

  • o fuck... 0.0

  • hm i'm pretty sure he didin't record a spastic ink record on that one...

  • just noticed

    its a 3 piece kit

  • Is this solo from Riot or Halford?

  • Early 90's Riot in Japan.

  • Thanx.

I believe he did stick twirling solo w/ glow-in-the-dark drum sticks w/ Riot. I wish he put that on his dvd.

  • that man is a programmed maniac!!! ..

one the best drummers - and one of my favorites

  • Well your opinion Sucks! Bobby will take Scott whatever his name is to school! that's for sure

  • Your opinion sucks because it has no basis in reality.

Scott Travis is a great meat n' potatos metal drummer who is perfect for Judas Priest. Bobby is a drum GOD with a signature style who is part of a very exclusive, boundaries pushing upper echelon alongside the likes of Virgil Donati, Thomas Lang, Marco Minnemann, Mike Mangini, Dennis Chambers, Deen Castronovo, and Derek Roddy.

  • Portnoy..... how can you forget him??????

  • Portnoy would get embarassed by Bobby

  • so true

  • @raptormanx doesn't look like it so far....

  • @raptormanx Would...

  • im not the kind of drummer who really cares about stick tricks that much, but that is pretty damn impressive

  • I would like to see anyone else here do a solo that good with 2 kicks, a snare, and 5 cymbals.....

  • That's just amazing!!! He does all these stick tricks with so much ease!!!

  • Best fucking drummer out there bar none,

if you don't agree take your head out of your ass

  • Bobby is one of the best drummers ever

  • you re a fucking idiot men

  • Bobby might not be THE best but he's definitely WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY ahead of Scott Travis. Remember Rob Halford's quote: "Bobby Jarzombek is the best metal drummer I know." And Rob of all people would know. Nuff said.

  • Bobby is better than Scott,I have met them both & both a great drummers but IMO Bobby has better feel & tecnique. Both Halford & Figght are great bands. Also love the work these guy's have done as part of Priest & the Sebastian Bach band.

  • Amazing. Never seen anybody doing this tricks

  • Jarzombek the circus drummer....hahahahaha!

  • BTW, watch some of jarzombek's other videos, they are amazing. one of the best, if not the best drummer i've ever seen

  • what the hell is so wrong with doing some stick tricks anymore!? dammit people its a fucking drum solo, the whole purpose of a drum solo is to show off

  • you guys are all dumb first its "portnoy" not pornoy and although this guy is probably better than him. portnoy is not overrated. they are both amazing drummers.

  • Yea seriously dumbshits

  • "pornoy" haha

  • you may think pornoy is overrated(which I think he deserved it) but to me BJ is only a "show off" technical drummer who always tryin to catch attention

  • You are sadly misinformed. Jarzombek isn't only "showing off" and "trying to catch attention" - he barely even flips a stick when he plays live with Halford or Bach. The only time you'll see him flash his technical prowess and crazy tricks is on his DVD or when he does a solo live which is always a fairly short affair. Portnoy is an infinitely bigger attention whore, from the size of his drum kit to the length of his drum solos. - Don't hate on Bobby just because he's better.....

  • tomas haanke for groovy, style, technicality, and amazing precision and matching the music flawlessly. my all time favourite drummer, but i just discovered bobby today and hes already my second favourite drummer, amazing technical brilliance, power, precision, good skill at matching the music..

niel is quite mentionable, along with portnoy, but if you haven't seen tomas give him a listen

  • Bobby is not the drummer of Watch tower, that's someone elese, I don't remember his name, something like Colaluca or something like that

  • yeah the drummer for watch tower is Rick Colaluca while the guitarist for watch tower is bobby's brother Ron Jarzombek.

  • re: Peart and Bobby. Peart is a lyrical genius, outstanding (duh) drummer, and more so, a brilliant musician possibly a genius when it comes to phrasing.

Techically (that is, the ability to display highly complex and/or highly syncopated beats or fill, Bobby would be superior.

Big difference in what we see between the two:

My jaw drops when Neil plays perfect beats and fills that so match the music.

My jaw drops when Bobby merely plays a 3-second fill with NO music playing.

  • watch his other stuff mike portnoy would have an aneurysm trying to play bobby's stuff

  • I think Portnoy would disagree.

  • Im sure he wouldn't

  • Hmm... not sure if you were disagreeing with my statement, but I was saying "I'm sure Mike Portnoy would disagree" referring to timtimtim's comment, "Mike portnoy ownz him!!". As in, Mike Portnoy would agree he doesn't own him :).

  • yeah i was definitely disagreeing with not a chance portnoy could duplicate jarzombek's stuff on the other hand bobby could duplicate portnoy's. bobby's independence far surpasses mikes

  • he usually plays with bare feet ..ive heard that is ultra bad for your ankles though ...still wat awesome twirling skills

  • Bobby owns! But he isn't the drummer for Watchtower and has never been =P

  • come on neal peart is not so great!!!!!!!!

  • he's not a juggler and could care less about the juggling

  • Rofl .. about this technique..He has played Painkiller (Judas Priest) all the way with this tech. also Betrayal (ROb HAlfords band)...Any time he beats anyone... *Anytime* he beats you for sure..So shut the fuck up retard...!! -_-

  • Juggling sticks has nothing to do with music.. that's the way I see it, Could Peart or Buddy Rich play power metal better than BJ? I doubt it, they'd have to bore themselves to death to settle for just that. Is it difficult? absolutely yes... is it tasteful? is a matter of choice... But to me, Horacio Hernandez, Akira Jimbo, Terry Bozzio, Mike Portnoy, Peart, Rich, Steve Gadd, Giovanni Hidalgo (hands) are at a very higher level as percussionists. you get blown away by juggling and repetition

  • I hope you (gyzmopr) were trying to be funny with your comments. Neil and bobby are not at the same dinner table. No disrespect to Neil.

  • true. see my moniker to know who i respect, but Jarzombek is sick beyond belief. where Neil beats him is the fact that he writes the lyrics to Rush's tunes. drumming, he can't hold a candle, chops wise, to BJ. Neil, i love ya, but some things just are...

  • so you actually think a drummer juggler deserves more credit as a musician than a musician with the track record as Neil's or Buddy Rich? is that it? cause I may be wrong... and just admit it. Actually you think that BJ will influence more drummers worldwide than Rich or Peart? you guys only listen to power metal?

  • i wonder how many pieces he could play with that useless technique. he's not close to Peart

  • That's right, Bobby is not close to Neil - he is MILES ahead of Neil. And I say that as a Peart fan.

  • how many times have you seen both of them live?

I've heard Bobby live as well as Neil. You're delirious.

  • I've seen both several times. I love Neil, especially how creative and lyrical he is on the drums. But in terms of sheer ability Bobby has long ago passed Neil. If you can't acknowledge that you don't know jack squat about drumming.

  • i don't care if he can take a third arm out of his sheer crotch and hit the same drum over and over again... it still lacks the GENIUS of music! of Peart and the whole rest of drummers that MUSICALLY just OWN him.

  • I think it's idiotic to judge Bobby based on this freak show solo or what he does live w/ Bach, Halford, etc.. Bobby more than proved his genius and creativity on the Spastic Ink albums which contain some of the best progressive drumming ever recorded. Nobody is taking anything away from Peart - he is the godfather of prog metal drums - but drumming has advanced substantially. Guys like Jarzombek, Donati, Minnemann, Lang, Mangini et al play at a different level that is simply beyond Peart.

  • then I'll look into that. cause I've only seen him own as a power metal drummer.

  • melmar idol...drummer of mirror

  • Never seen something like that dude...pfeww

  • Bobby is a one-man FREAKshow - if he ever gets tired of metal he could join the Cirque de Soleil!

  • :) his brother,Ron, is the same ...i really wonder how are there parents...with what did they feed this 2 musicians to become this good :)

  • @SeeingSounds Lol. So right. They had to feed them quite a bit growing up.

  • @SeeingSounds They must be really good parents for two extraordinary children. They really taught them how important it is to be hard-working, precise, innovative maximalists! They are not just awesome players but awesome musicians as well!

  • What the f..k, Bobby is amaysing.

  • thanks for uploading! its great to see Bobby in action in front of the crowd!
