our micra doesnt shows rpm, but i drove 75 in 2cond gear and 115in 3rd gear and i`m shure it was over 7000rpm, but we have no mods in our car, how can it be?
My speedo is in mph. On my hardest accelerations I've probably gone 30-32 mph in first gear (sounded like an angry wasp) and up to about 55 (89km/h) in second gear, when getting back up to speed on a motorway after being stuck behind a broken down van at 19 mph!! I've heard about people increasing/removing limiters and adding turbos. I've heard the stock limiter is ~6900-7300 rpm (whatever pitch that is!) but you put 8000 rpm so have you played with the limiter at all?
@RCPhilN I found the limiter for my car. 32mph in 1st, 55mph in 2nd (speedo reading), then it switches off and decelerates as if you took your foot of the gas or turned the ignition off. Only tested with a hot engine :D, I'm up from 2nd by 20 on start up till the oil pressure is up. It's odd that we have the same limit in second but not 1st. Have you got a shorter second? 37mph in 1st seems very high although you made yours rev to 8000.
i noticed with mine since i done this 'mod' , it occasionaly stalls/cuts outs when the revs are too low, or refuses to accelerate when i push the gas pedal down, if i switch it off, then restart it its fine then. Once i removed it, it stopped doing that.... Have you had a similar experience??
Yes, i have that problem too, but in the beginning i was ok... But the major problem is at 7.000rpm in 3rd, it cuts off, then i change to 4th and i continues to accelerate, but not at the same rate. In 1st or 2nd i dont have this problem. Check my video against a 206 CC to see the problem. thanks
@TimpBizkit I did nothing on my car. i buyed it for 700 euro!

Poor clutch... Step on the gas after you engaged the clutch, not before!

@bagacete that's cool cause I own a 1994 nissan micra and give it quite a bit of rev but a bit nervous of finding out where the limiter is

can u explain this :)
i dunno what ur convo wat about but if it works sound something id try :)
davil005 2 years ago
Its a very good mod, you can gain a bit of revs that help when you change gear. Any question, PM me.
bagacete 2 years ago
there is a rotating disk inside the distributor that has holes in it. tape up the holes and bobs your uncle. no rev limiter.
antonyaiken 2 years ago
You don't tape all the holes... And it still has rev limiter, at 9.000rpm, but its an abuse for the engine to rev that higher...
