sugar is sugar. Fruit sugar and honey are the most unhealthy. They are both sweeter than table sugar beause they contain more fructose. Glucose and Fructose ARE sugar and you have added both of them to the reipe.
@dialectical44 Anything that tastes sweet has sugar. Fruits, nut, butter, cream, bread. Carbohydrates= sugar. Even wood and grass have sugar in the form of cellulose! Does eating a mouthful of grass = eating a spoon full of sugar? Avoid the temptation to oversimplify.
The video title says "No Sugar" which is incorrect. Eating a mouthful of grass, nuts, vegetables........... provides carbohydrates whether it tates sweet or not. But, Carbs must make up the smallest percentage of daily dietary macronutrients. The sweeter the taste the more fructose/glucose it has and the more deleterious to health. Bananas and honey are sweet, they are not "grass." Caloric sweeteners like honey and fructose (even from whole fruits) are dangerous.
@dialectical44 I suppose a more accurate title would be "No refined sugar added" or "Less refined sugar added." My point was that table sugar, honey and banana are all sweet because they are carbohydrates, the only difference is that they range from simple to complex. Even leafy vegetables that don't taste sweet have carbs. It is an oversimplification to believe that this complexity is irrelevant.
I wish you also show us the exact measurements for each ingredients for this recipe. But you have a very good public communications skills. Thanks for sharing your healthy recipe.
@CupcakeIdeasForYou Thank you very much for your kind comment! =) I'm sorry about the measurements... this was the first video that I was inconsistent with giving them all during the shoot. You can always find the complete recipe on my website. I can't put a link here in the comments, but the link can be found in the description below the video. Hope that helps! God Bless! ~Erika
@GrooveWorshipper Oh goodness, Almond Meal does sound delish! I do have another banana bread recipe that uses almond meal flour and coconut flour - I'll try to put a video together soon for that one! Thanks for the comment! God Bless! ~Erika
I really like what you show on your videos. I just found out that my 12 yr old daughter is lactose intolarent and the recipes you show we can substitute,,,Thank you and i'm glad i found your videos
@bobtailgal77 Thank you so much for the comment! Almost all of my videos will be lactose free because one of my sons is also extremely sensitive to anything dairy. It can take some getting used to, but once you get the feel for it, almost any recipe can be altered. God Bless! ~ Erika
@MrViolentlyHappy That is wonderful news! You must have begged really hard to convince your parents - LOL :) I do have/use both the dry blade & the wet blade, however if you can only afford one - the wet blade can do it all. The dry blade does do a better job at grinding grains, cacao nibs, nuts, etc... but the web blade is honestly a great place to start. However, if you get a good package deal with the dry blade, then go for it! Keep me posted! God Bless, ~ Erika
Love this Erika. I will have to make this recipe and add walnuts. I am not 100% raw because it is hard for me to do. My family is not raw as well. Thanks again and blessings be upon you and your family.
@fontrella Don't worry about not being 100% raw... my family is not either. We try hard to have a 60/40 raw & whole food ratio. The biggest thing we try to practice is moderation in all things... plus, we've learned that we have to be realistic due to kids & a limited food budget - but eating healthy can be accomplished with the right tools... like the VitaMix (which you will hopefully have soon! - Yay!) God Bless! ~ Erika
I long for the day we can have a Vitamix. QVC had them as their special value a few months back, and I begged my husband for one. He had no idea how special they were...until a couple months later when he read about one of his favorite triathletes using it daily and how important it was for her. He said, "We should get one of those." Oh that man drives me nuts! :)
@TheAppieShow Don't worry, you will have a VitaMix someday! :) It always helps when the hubby appreciates the value in it too... my husband was skeptical that I would use it enough to justify the cost, but now he's a believer! LOL I think his favorite thing to make in it now is fresh soups. Let me know when you get one! :) God Bless! ~ Erika
@TheAppieShow Hey g to QVC.com. My husband was flippign channels and told me "honey here is this blender you wanted". So when I went online they have them on back order. So mine will be shipped 2/25/11. I can not wait!!!!!!!
@fontrella Wooohooo... That is so exciting!!! I can't wait for you to get your VitaMix! You will wonder how you ever lived without it! =) Keep me posted and let me know how it goes! God Bless! ~ Erika
@miika2 That's so funny because I've called myself a 'flexitarian' for years too! It's very hard to explain to people my eating habits - it's so nice to know I've got somebody out there who understands! :) Thanks for the comment! God Bless! ~ Erika
@guitarlovenjc Thanks for the comment! :) It's almost impossible to be 100% raw... especially with 5 mouths to feed. So we try to strike a balance in our family between the two. I truly believe that good, wholesome food can be delicious and affordable. I hope that by sharing the recipes, other families will try them out for themselves and make a change for the better in their diets! God Bless! ~ Erika
