Following seasons I used the Sleep-Ins, Rozengracht and Looiersgracht, at fl. 5.- a night. Now it's been a long year since I was to Amsterdam last. But I am having the plan to go with my wife either this fall or next spring. Cheers dear all - Klaus of Hamburg formerly of the North German Plains

I remember very well the snackbar and the left baggage facility put up under the bridge at the entrance to the park, run by Jeugdzaken (Youth Dpt.) of A'dam. Baggage fee was a kwartje or two. It was great fun, a real gas! That was the last season beore the park was closed down for sleeping/ overnight/ living there. ... to be continued ...
I was there, too. First time I went to Amsterdam was, at the age of 15, in 1973. Fascinating scene, pure magic, I tell you. Then, in the summer of 74, after a hitch-hike to Turkey and back, all of us friends met at Vondelpark and spent the rest of the season there. Must have been thousands sleeping there every night. ... to be continued ...
I was in Amsterdam in the mid 70ies - I was 18 and had long hair, like all young guys. Was this the Sleepin? I was sleeping in the Sleepin, one was in the Roozengracht, the second was in the Loierscracht. This was my generation in the 70ies. All these young guys are 55-65 years old now. Also me, I am 55, I was one of the youngest guys in the mid 70ies. It was really a very impressive and funny time!!! Peter Vienna
Hi Spectrum - yes we became old! I remember, summer 75 was not so nice but the summer 1976 was very hot and hundrets of people were sitting in the Vodelpark. I was playing guitar, smoked, took some trips....and so on. Also In summer 76 I have seen a live concert of the Slumberland Band (at Melkweg). This was an amazing band! It was their last concert. You was working as counselor in this park. In summer a lot of people were sleeping there, all nations. I met many guys from Vienna.
