Have you ever wondered how the captain and sailor in HMS Pinafore could be switched at birth when their 20 years apart in age? "Two On The Aisle's" Charles Gross & Leslie (Hoban) Blake find out when they enter the topsey turvey world of New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players founder and artistic director, Albert Bergeret. Go to gross902
Notwithstanding the dodgy recording quality, this is brilliant. A great adaptation and performance. As a lifelong G&S devotee I find this hugely enjoyable. Wish I could buy a CD/DVD of it.
I always thought this segment was funky enough without the rap beat. But, it was pulled off. A good example of non-traditional G&S that is actually good.

Well, I know what the drums sounded like and what the costumes looked like.
What on Earth anyone was singing was ignored by the guy who recorded this.
Now I shall ignore it too.

maybe it's the video sound quality but I can't understand the words at all. Not good with G&S !

That's brilliant.
But I don't think I'd be able to sit through that Chancellor's performance for very long! lol.
Too over the top and camp.

I love how Lord Chancellor grapevines across the stage at the end.
