@Ravi5kumar you obviously don't need an i7 but it has benefit in some games like GTA IV< BC2...you can get an sandy bridge i5 proccessor and good graphic card like HD 6950.
@UxMat wrong, technically you could get it to launch on a pentium1 if you had adequate ram and a decent agp card. would run like shit but would run nevertheless
Possible due to most new games running mainly off of graphics card. processor used mainly for physics and such. if you have a pentium 3 with a card that is a beast, yes its possible. for the longest time, i had a pentium 4 2.0 and a 8400 gs PCI and a gig of ram, running mass effect 2 at 50-80 frames on max settings. (only while building my newer system as my dual core died.)
i have almost same machine, only processor i change to a pentium 3 S tualatin 1.4ghz (latest p3 launched) and run pretty well,i am trying to make a video to post here
impressive buddy, i didn't know crysis could look like that though. i hope you have upgraded since. i'm going to be laughing about this for awhile. i thought it was hilarious making dirt 2 run on p4 paired with a 7600 gs. i think you topped it. good video.
It run probably because of the vid card, but the processor can only handle so much .. resulting into that non-smooth FPS we are all seeing . Swap a Pentium 4 onto it, then itll do the job
This PC in last - i sold it a year ago and bought a new Core i3 notebook (with 3 Gb of RAM, 1Gb video card and other stuff). But the cost of this notebook are not very expensive - 550 $ (without preinstalled OS).
you can play any game whit any system just need to know what to do :P excluding upgrades i can run gta 4 on geforce fx and single core 2,6ghz and 768mb ram of course whit grapichs downgraders evrythings fine
If you add a good videocard (at least Geforce 6200 or Radeon 9600 or better) you can play it.
CPU a comparatively good for this game because it's a dual core and the minimal requirement CPU for Crysis a single core 1.8 Ghz (this was written at the back side of my DVD with this game)
P.S Sorry, for mistakes - i'am russian-speaking man :)
@AlexMagic777 but my pc are best than you, sorry for my bad english i'm latin, nice video, i want to buy a video card to 256 or 512Mb from the intel atom 1.7Ghz, & 2Gb ram.
Yeah, I just bought Crysis, original one, and it plays awesome on my dual 5770 system. Still, it lags a bit when I pump the graphics to the highest, must be the VRAM that's not enough even though my 5770s already have 2GB
@yuvinmw nah, I have tried VPC before and it lags hard, I have a Core Duo Mac mini and a gaming PC which I assembled. Thus, I can play Crysis if I desire
@86123maxxi Because Crytek and EA are smart enough to know that Mac sucks hard and if your a smart person you would go for the PC choise. If your dumb and have lots of money, or just plainly retarded, you go and buy a Mac.. If however your a smart student who does get pussy, you'd go for the PC choise and live your life fully.

Hmm, there is a video of someone playing Crysis on a P3 with a 6200 card , but I don't see how you got 1.25 gb and a 3850 agp video card to work on a P3 motherboard , I going to have to call B.S on this one.
@TheDSCClan Optimizing Win XP likely helped a good bit, He IS using a much faster GPU, I could see using symbolic links to spread game data across multiple hard drive helping a great deal...
@TheDSCClan maybe your computer is by hp, compaq, or e-machines. maybe even dell. i advise that if you want help you will need to post full specs of your pc.
@gmoiasovghb87fa epic fail? this pc is pretty cool for being a pentium 3 you have to admit that, even if it doenst play crysis good this still does better than the 3ghz p4's with the geforce 6200
@gmoiasovghb87fa its not a dual core pentium 3 its 2 pentium 3's on the mobo. lol and a dual core chip doesnt mean its twice as fast a 3ghz dual core its 3ghz x2. its total speed it still 3 ghz
That isn't entirely correct. If a game is multithreaded then a dual core cpu IS faster than a single core at the same speed. You also have to take improvements in the architecture into account. Even if only 1 core is used, an E6850 Core 2 Duo 3.0ghz is going to be faster than a Pentium 4 3.0 ghz.
@xxxkiller809xxx There is not dual core pentium 3, the fist dual core came out after the pentium 4, unless you have 2 seperate pentium 3 cpu's on one board.
that`s not for heavy gaming is still a option if you have any socket 370 mb laying around which i`m sure alot of us do better than filling landfills with more pc power than anyone could think of 30 years ago i believe the cpu used to land our first moon mission was slower than a cheap dollar watch now and people would be surprised at how much windows uses system resources dos was the best os ever and everything after was easier but much more resource hungry
looks like the first unreal for pc back in the day thanks for the video i have a 1ghz pent 3 that i`ve given to my sister in a old custom box i use youtube to view possible game that she can play it`s coupled with a fx500 pci video card and 1 gb ram i used for linux but she`s windows only not planning on een trying crysis but have seen a lot of games run on pentium 3 that i`m surprised even load pentium 3 `s can be had for under 10 dollars now so putting together a reasonable pc
wouldn't that be bottleneck causing by poor processor power? get a e3400 and you will see at least 10x of improvement :) (64kb L1 cache per core and 1mb L1 share vs p3's 32kb L1 cache + 512kb half speed cache)
i used to have a Dell Optiplex GX150, 1GHz Intel Pentium 3 (Socket 370), 512MB SDRAM, ATI Radeon 7500 64MB, Windows XP Pro. it was quite fast for it's time being, lol. i'm sure that sucker would have handled Crysis with a 1.4GHz P3 and a higher end AGP video card lol.
tualatin is fast at its time...but to handle game like crysis under reasonable framerate it'd has to oc from 1.4ghz to 1.75ghz and require a dual socket motherboard(82840?) and 2gb pc800 rdram with ecc enable (oc to 1066) and a pair of 3850 agp....
i don't think you can get any agp card from nvidia after geforce 7800gs. however since you have dual socket taulatin you should try to overclock it from 133mhz fsb to 166mhz , the best scenario is if you have both taulatin that's 1.4ghz model that have 10.5x ratio multiplier which would give you huge boot in clock speed from 1.4 to 1.75ghz, with 3850 agp i think it can perform equivalent to an atom z570 or celerom 430
not bad. Pentium 3's are insane man. Pentium 3's have 512mb l2 cache which is a NICE amount, they run pretty fast clocks, a 900+mhz would be better, and the motherboards usualy support around 1.5gb. So with the 3850 agp, it would run very nicely. =)
@TheBoksera631 Geforce 5500fx is a joke dude i have a 7600gs and its slow as hell with full shaders, Geforce5500 wasnt even recommended for worldofwarcraft in 2004
This is why I always put GPU before CPU. I mean, this CPU is bottlenecked to absolute buggery. Yes, the CPU will cause stuttering from time to time, but the game is still running 'ok'. And this CPU is only about 25% of the absolute minimum recommended spec (possibly even less, due to the CPU architecture, though I'm not sure about that..)
Wow! it's great i already have an pentium 3 866mhz 512 mb ram and 6200.. It run gta san andreas and much more! pentium 3 is great, even better than pentium 4 with the same mhz
@Blitzkrieg1981 If you're talking about the fact that the card is going in through AGP and not pci express, then I'm willing to bet the 3850 is not bottlenecked by an AGP port at all. ATI even made HD 4000 series cards for AGP and those weren't bottlenecked either.
@CustomPcsUK pentium 3 is the structure intel went with to build the pentium m, core, and core2 structure. pentium 4 was just so inefficient that they couldn't use it. a pentium 3 733 mhz is still really slow by current standards. it's be like a core2 solo at 500 mhz

lol it's kendragnev's video, not mine :P
i used to have a Dell Optiplex GX150, 1GHz Intel Pentium 3 (Socket 370), 512MB SDRAM, ATI Radeon 7500 64MB, Windows XP Pro. it was quite fast for it's time being, lol. i'm sure that sucker would have handled Crysis with a 1.4GHz P3 and a higher end AGP video card lol.
NYz3R0dAY 11 months ago
tualatin is fast at its time...but to handle game like crysis under reasonable framerate it'd has to oc from 1.4ghz to 1.75ghz and require a dual socket motherboard(82840?) and 2gb pc800 rdram with ecc enable (oc to 1066) and a pair of 3850 agp....

@hanrinch i have an IBM eServer with TWO Pentium III Tualatin processors (dual-socket) with 1GB ECC RDRAM
may get an nvidia video card for it.
NYz3R0dAY 11 months ago
i don't think you can get any agp card from nvidia after geforce 7800gs. however since you have dual socket taulatin you should try to overclock it from 133mhz fsb to 166mhz , the best scenario is if you have both taulatin that's 1.4ghz model that have 10.5x ratio multiplier which would give you huge boot in clock speed from 1.4 to 1.75ghz, with 3850 agp i think it can perform equivalent to an atom z570 or celerom 430

not bad. Pentium 3's are insane man. Pentium 3's have 512mb l2 cache which is a NICE amount, they run pretty fast clocks, a 900+mhz would be better, and the motherboards usualy support around 1.5gb. So with the 3850 agp, it would run very nicely. =)

is house made crysis game,i think p3 can't even initialize the game

what have you done to your pc? :O
i've got a 3 Ghz Pentium4 , 3gb ram, nvidia 8600 winxp and it lags like hell ://
back then i've got a p3 800mhz 425mb ram, 64 vram, win2k and even sims2 didn't run so well...

I'm guessing that Crysis WON'T run my crappy machine:Celeron 2.40ghz Nvidia GeForce 5500FX 128mb 512MB RAM.

@TheBoksera631 Geforce 5500fx is a joke dude i have a 7600gs and its slow as hell with full shaders, Geforce5500 wasnt even recommended for worldofwarcraft in 2004

wow im surprised it even runs! My P3 866 with a Geforce 2 ran Far cry under 15 FPS on avarage

@FRURMELLL yeah, the cpu is but the gpu isn't far behind it
Blitzkrieg1981 1 year ago
@Blitzkrieg1981 If you're talking about the fact that the card is going in through AGP and not pci express, then I'm willing to bet the 3850 is not bottlenecked by an AGP port at all. ATI even made HD 4000 series cards for AGP and those weren't bottlenecked either.

wow on my old CPU idd that time when he went much better than the Pentium 4 of my ma 2.8 GHz and 512 MB faster than my old box

i thought a pentium 3 was so slow it could barely run windows xp
CustomPcsUK 1 year ago
@CustomPcsUK Nahh... I have a 733 mhz pentium 3 box with 512mb of RAM and Windows XP runs 2x faster than my 2.0Ghz Vista laptop w/ 1GB ram :/
MrCr80man 1 year ago
@CustomPcsUK pentium 3 is the structure intel went with to build the pentium m, core, and core2 structure. pentium 4 was just so inefficient that they couldn't use it. a pentium 3 733 mhz is still really slow by current standards. it's be like a core2 solo at 500 mhz
